I pulled my original Datsun Competition Suspension out of my garage attic this week and plan to install it on my 72Z. It consist of springs, concentric s for the control arms and spacers for the front to correct the steering geometry. I took this off of the 70 race car years ago when we updated the suspension etc... I was looking at the Datsun Competition Parts Catalog for that period and it says that you must use struts #55302-E7213 and 55303-E7213. Dos anyone remember or know why. I currently have a new set of KYB's on the 72. Thanks in advance for the vast knowledge of this group.

Hello all, I'm looking for some input from some of you who may own original JDM headlight covers. I have decided to reproduce them as I think there would be a fair amount of interest in a set of quality reproductions that are similar to the originals. What I need from you, I don't have a set of originals but I have many pictures and along with some dimensions etc. that will be all I need to get started. First I would like to know if there are at least 2 members who are willing to make a paper trace/template of their rings and covers and then mail them to me so that I will be able to locate the mounting holes in the correct locations. Ideally I'd like what I'm maki…

Hey all! First time poster here, looking for my very first S30, as well as project car. I've been scouring a lot of ads and came across a potential hit. I think I'm familiar with the major things to look out for (rust, rust, and more rust), but could use some advice on a particular car. I am patient enough to wait for the right car, but at the same time I don't want to pass up a great car due to inexperience. Link to pictures taken by owner. Asking price is $4k. Basically, I need advice on whether or not this is a good specimen for a first project car, or if I'll be in over my head. Owner claims there is minimal rust with no rust in the floor panels and it is st…

I received the following email through another car club I manage and thought Z owners might be interested. Read on. Dennis Greetings, I'm a Casting Producer based in Los Angeles Casting an Exciting New TV Show on a Major Network(I can expand via telephone)!! We want people that love their cars and have a companion that can accompany them on this amazing adventure across America during the Summer (husband and wife, High School Friends, Brothers and Sisters, Fathers and Daughters, etc). I was hoping you could let your clients know that this opportunity exist. The star of this show is the car followed by the personalities of the drivers. With the …

Since "finishing" my car last August I've had time to make a few observations. In some ways the car has exceeded my expectations and in other ways it hasn't quite lived up to them. That caused me to wonder if my expectations were realistic. My car is a 1976 280z and in 1976 I was 5 years old. So I've never driven one in original condition. In fact my car is the only 280z I've ever driven. Mostly I drive my 2008 350z NISMO. So I thought I'd list a few of my observations in hopes that folks would comment on whether or not they seemed normal for the car or something that might need fixing. 1). At highway speeds there is a lot of drivetrain noise. The diffy and…

Im looking for cast flattops to rebuild my 83 f54/p79, having a hard time finding ones that arent forged but I stumbled upon these. It says theyre for 75-79s but as far as I can tell those were the same as the pistons in the f54 block. Can anyone see any reason these wouldn't work or if I shouldn't buy from this source? https://zcardepot.com/engine/engine-rebuild/piston-set-of-6-pistons-l28-020.html?search=piston
