I have a 1978 280z and I want to swap from the Fuel Injection to carbs. I was planning on putting triple webers on it but because of their price tag I thought that it would be a good idea to try with some cheaper SU carbs. I found some that I have a price tag of $375 obo, he said that they were rebuilt a year ago and run great. It comes with (what it think) is everything to just bolt it on (carbs, filters, manifold, heat shield). Are these a good price?

Here's an intersting problem for you gentlemen to help me diagnose... - I have a 1973 240Z with a ford 2.3T motor ( Code Name: Too Fordy ) After the swap was complete, everything was great except for an RPM specific engine rattle. I recorded a video with good audio so you can hear what I hear. The noise is not present at idle and seems to disappear above 3k or so. Here's some background on the motor. * I have no idea how many miles were on it when purchased. * I replaced dizzy, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, tps, & fluids recently. * Compression test was performed today with the following results: Cyl 1: 165psi - Cly 2: 165psi - Cyl 3: 165psi…

If I wanted to make some Fairlady Z Vinyl decals for people's cars and sell them here and there, what is the legality of that? I see aftermarket memorabilia everywhere and it doesn't seem like it is produced by Nissan. Is this illegal or just a shade of grey?

Always nice to get a little attention. http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/my-fair-lady-a-visual-history-of-the-nissan-z-car/ss-AAlCpSG?ocid=spartanntp Glad they brought up the 'Pre-Z' history. That is how I typically refer to my 1600 roadster at the ZCSD meetings.

Just got a text from the guy I sold it to. No more rust, repainted exterior and some interior. All new weatherstripping and shined up wheels. Looks good and he is very happy with it. Here's what it did look like, 110.zip

i am seriously considering a line lock https://www.summitracing.com/parts/huu-1745000/overview/ as a way to lock the rear brakes. if you put in a hidden switch and a small light on the dash, someone gets in the car and tries to drive off, the first time they hit the brakes, the rear brakes lock up and wont release. i even thought that maybe on on the clutch line if it could stop the clutch pedal from being pushed. what do you guys think? opinions please thanks all sb

My l28 n42/n47 will be needing a bit of head work soon, specifically a valve job. Wondering if there is anyone located in Washington that has any recommendations for a shop to go to have this done in the near future, probably around January/February. Western Washington would be preferable, I'm located near Olympia.

I am not sure if any one has done this or not. My passenger side mirror housing came off the little post ball in side of the mirror because the hole must have over time enlarged. These are the original mirrors I purchased with the car back in 76. Here is what I did to remedy the situation. I am working on the driver side because I did not have my camera for the passengers side. I pushed the housing back on over the ball. I found a 1 1/6" washer on the thinner side and hammered it concave and sawed a slot the width of the hole to fit over the post in the mirror. You want to try to use a washer on the harder side but thin. Next I slipped the washer over the post…

Has anyone heard of, or used this new thing? The TrackR device is some new kind of BlueTooth thing that allows you to find whatever it's attached to. If you leave it somewhere in public, it relies on other people that use the associated smartphone application to detect the device, and the location information is stored somewhere using "cloud" resources. I don't think this would be good to use for some things, even thought they claim you could attach the little thing (about the size of a quarter coin) to most anything, and you should be able to find it. Really? "I dropped my keys in the marina..." I suppose if you had it on a phone or in your wallet, yo…

You know those flashing LEDs that you see on cars with alarms or theft-deterrent stuff installed? I was looking at my drawer of electronics junk, and realized I had the stuff to make one (555 timer, resistors, LED, etc.) I made a Printed circuit board ( hate breadboarding) and put the thing together. It worked! I will add some wire to the LED so I can hide the PCB behind the sunvisor, and let the LED hang down near the rearview mirror. But overall, would something like that be useful? Does the fake alarm LED actually deter a would-be thief?
