Out of curiosity, has anyone here ever found or acquired a downloadable version of the 1970 FSM? The '71 manual is widely available (albeit not a very good-quality scan and pretty fuzzy in places) and is perhaps identical in content, but I've yet to see the 1970 version anywhere.

I just recently purchased a 240z that needs a bunch of parts. In my search, I haven't found any sites like a Moss parts catalog except for the Black dragon website. The site says it is closing this part of their business down. It looks like exactly the kind of site that would be good for our cars. Does anyone know of any other sites with a nice catalog where parts seems reasonable??

the to do list, no particular order outer rear hatch weather seal find source of oil loss pan gasket rear main side seals I see no blue smoke or other evidence of internal leakage (no oil in rad, no water in engine)that being said I go thru about 1/2 quart in 400 miles. I have oil seepage at the rear of the engine around the pan and down the trans cover, Not a lot, so not sure if this accounts for the loss 5 speed from a 81 ZX TC bushings (not in great shape) front sway bar (also not that great) rack bushings (not sure about the condition) ball joints dust boots or new, prob 555's would like to clean and c…

My Z only has the one speaker on the driver side, I really want to have stereo as close to OE as possible. Currently there are a 3 after market speakers, all in plastic enclousers that are mounted 2 in the back (left channel) and one in the front by the passenger side hung under the dash. That has to go. So anyway I managed to get a passenger side speaker mount (hole were in the pass rear trim already but no mount and no wire harness connection) and some new matched period correct speakers. It looks like I will at least have to remove the quarter glass trim to get access to the factory location of the body harness that would be where the speaker wire should go. If any on…

I have a question about performance and idle speed. I have a 78 280z, runs great, just replaced the one part it seemed to need to enhance its performance which was the lower pcv hose, the old one was crap. Boy what a difference the new one made... However, once I replaced it the idle went up from 800 to about 1000rpm. And I noticed the car's throttle switch didn't kick in to send it to full enrichment for full throttle application. So I lowered the idle to about 750 or 800rpm with the engine up to temperature of course.. Then I took it for a spin and it blew me away, I mean it threw me back in my seat, the performance was 1000 times what it was at the previous idl…

Guys, has someone ever tried to rebush the carbs? I know Ztherapy offers this service, However, I would like to try it on my own. I found a comprehensive tutorial here. So far I haven't found suitable bushings (brass or Delrin), any advice? Is there any source for new throttle shafts? How have you dealt with worn out shafts/bushings? Thanks!

1972 240z manual. Having a problem moving shift lever into reverse. Just drove car cross country, about 2500 miles. When I started, shifting into all gears was fine, smooth and easy. Near the end shifting into reverse was very hard, and it still is. No grinding, just moving the shift lever into reverse is very stiff and takes quite a bit of force. Any help will be appreciated. Don't know if this is a linkage or transmission problem.

I'm workin on a mostly stock '77 280, except msd 43 gph f.pump(noisy bastard). feels electrical. primary coil resistance is .3ohms, secondary is 10.75k, resistor block is 2ohms wires range from 7.99k to 10.20k, plugs are new, cap & rotor look good, pick up set at .3mm. I tried downloading the manual from this site because I don't know the actual acceptable spec range(s). fuel pressure is 30psi with regulator under full vacuum and 43psi with no vac. I installed an inline filter before the pump and a new factory filter under hood. I even tried bypassing the fuel damper, that just made the pump noise louder. I insulated the pump in the factory bracket by wrapping in rub…

I have two Series 1 cars. One is a 11/70 manual and the other a 12/70 automatic. At some point both transmissions will be rebuilt and I would like to get the rebuild kits now. Can some of your transmission gurus confirm what model transmission should be in each so that I order the correct kits? Many thanks!

Hi, I´m looking for speakers to install in a 240Z. I would like to replace the 4 original speakers behind the rear side panels. Can anyone recommend a speaker that fits in there without modification? Thank you!
