is there only one seal on the tail lights, the tail light to body? when i put the finisher trim on there is a gap between it and the tail light and you can see in there. it looks like there may be something missing. or, was the the housing just painted black? mine is a lite grey color that you see in the pic below even with the trim on. thanks all sb

Oil leak source? 1 2

I have oil dripping off the bell houseing of my transmission right where it mates to the engine. I'm guessing its an engine oil seal issue, but I'm not seeing much of a drop in oil level. Is there any chance this could be from the transmission? Thanks, Steve

I keep my Zs covered in a mostly dark and dry garage. I am having some type of powdery mold spots forming on the carpets. They will disappear after vacuuming and even brushing with my hand. Anybody else have these spots and know what I could do to prevent them? Thanks.

well since I want to make day trips with the Z (300+ at 70mph is about all I am good for) I needed to know how well the car handled extended high speed. Not wanting to find out in BFNW I got out on a few local toll roads that ringed O town, and kept it pretty much at 70-80 for about 90 miles. Happy to report that the temp just got to about 180 (85f AC on) and sat there, oil pressure stayed about 4/5 full. Had the lights on as well. Checked the oil and water level after I got home (and let it cool some) all looked good. Even stopped for gas at about the 1/2 point and was able to restart with no issues after filling up (no hot start problems). I did open the hood and check …

Hi all, I am currently upgrading my engine. Port/polish, bore 83.75, stage 2 cam, racing springs, lifters, lash pads, kameri sprocket etc. My pistons rings are 4mm x 2mm x 2mm. I ordered the Perfect Circle ring kit that was available for the Silvolite pistons. The rings when I measured them were 4 x 1.5mm x 1.5mm. According to the tech from P. C. this 0.5 mm variance was a designed to accommodate additional expansion properties and is not an issue. Anyone familiar or have any idea if this is correct. Or should I opt for a ring that is 2mm. Thanks Lon

I'm hauling a 240Z on the dual axle car transport trailer. Someone that's familiar with those might help me out with loading tips. Should I drive it on nose first or back it on? Is there anything I should take caution with besides the obvious? Car has no spoiler or front air dam. 195/70-14s stock wheels and tires. It's going to be a close fit I can tell already. Thanks for any advice. Cliff

I guess I'm late to the party because I just found out about this site, http://www.hammondsplains.com/z/index.htm Maybe there are others who haven't seen it yet, there is some interesting looking stuff on it and no middle man.

I bought a low mileage '71 about a year ago. It is titled and in very good condition. I always thought I could use a parts car just in case. About a week ago, I found one that was near my house. It came with several boxes of parts, bumpers, a set of new rims, factory AM radio, a front spoiler, spare console, extra dash, a spare engine with E31 head (that has a header of some kind on it), tranny along with the complete car with its own engine and transmission. My car is a 5/71 and this "Parts Car" was a 6/71 which was perfect for me. I have no idea if the parts car runs. The frame rails in the wheel wells are rusted through in the usual spot but the box where t…
