Kill switch 1 2

I was wondering what would be the best thing to hook-up a "kill switch" to? My Z sleeps outside and I'd like a little bit of extra security, in this case a hidden switch I can just fflip before exiting the car. What should that switch disable? Ignition? Fuel pump?

So I'm getting around the point to install the brake components that are missing and to put a fluid in that does not discolour as much as regular DOT3 or 4, in hopes that it won't yellow the new plastic reservoirs mainly. Has anyone had issues with early 240Z brake components utilizing DOT5 brake fluid? I like the fact that DOT5 won't peel paint it it spills or drips, it has a higher boiling point (a bonus, really), and it won't absorb water like DOT4 would, so it would generally last longer and stay clearer (though it also won't let paint adhere if I get it on anything that is un-coated, which may be a problem if I am... careless) My main concern is having t…

Hey everyone, Just wanted to take time to share what I have been working on lately and tell the story behind the project. Long story short, I bought this Z around the same time I met my soon to be wife. I'm a huge Nissan/Datsun fan to begin with and I have always loved the early S30s. When I hired on at my current job, one of the guys figured out I was a Z fan. He told me that a guy he knew was selling a 1970 240Z and asked if I would be interested. I was blessed enough to have hired on with a sign on bonus that happened to be sitting in my bank account. At the time that money was going to be used for a dry sump system for my other project (S13 240SX w/ VK56DE a…

I apologize if this is misposted. I thought about putting it in "interior" but that didn't seem quite right... Has anyone replaced the stock underhood vacuum pump and vacuum bottle associated with the heater/airconditioner box with something else? I would like to delete the stock units and install something hopefully a little more compact somewhere else. Recommendations would be welcome. Thanks.

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I would really appreciate some help. My 1972 Z with manual transmission runs pretty good but it's not great. My manual says timing should be either 17 degrees or 5 degrees depending if it has emission control or noe. My Z HAD emission control but it was removed. Should I time to 17 degrees or 5 degrees? Also, I can't get the dwell angle above 22 degrees. Can anyone help? Thanks

Local installer wants 300$ labor, I supply gasket, has the stainless trim. He says they work on old cars knew about the trim piece right off. I experimented on removing one from a junker, seemed easy enough just cut out the old rubber gasket from the top, gently push out from inside. Seen the youtube tool using a string inserted into channel that fits on the body, then place glass with gasket (and trim in stalled) on opening and draw strings from inside to pull the gasket edge in and over the lip. So is this really that hard to do? the install that is. I am willing to spend the money if its a major pain. oh one more question, I see the gasket goes for …

So I finally managed to find a 240z which I always desired. It will take a lot of time to make her beautiful again but I am sure the time spent on restoration will be definitely worth it. Not my first car which will be rebuilt (already completed Miata NA version) so I kind of know what amount of work to expect but I am really afraid of rust. There are a lot of non genuine parts on the car so I plan to get her to stock look as much as possible. First I need to start the car after 12y sitting in a barn. I just can't wait to hear the engine. So if anyone here is selling the parts, PM me I am definitely looking for inspection light, mirrors, seats, front bumper, wheel…
