Hi guys, I need to sell my early Z to make room and money to start the next Z project. I thought I would list it on BaT but they want to start it with a reserve that is so low I just can't live with it so I'm also thinking about ebay but I have never sold on ebay before so am not familiar with the best way to present it, how to organize transport, the safest way handle the money transfer. I'm not really sure how much to ask for it. I thought I would post some pics here and a description of what has been done to the car and see what you guys think, I know you will be brutally honest and that is a good thing, don't pull your punches. It's hard for me to objective about…

So sad to announce the passing of my long time friend Z Doc. Dave was an incredible person with a complete knowledge of the Datsun L series engines. He is the founder of the P90/P79 shaved and shimmed head. He did five for me alone......I will miss him immensely. Drive on Doc........you will be missed more than you know!

Been working on getting the car going for a few weeks now. Was ready to fire it up last week, tried to jump it. But the battery was obviously far too gone to even jump. I didn't realize a battery could be too dead to jump, but apparently it can. New battery, new starter, new cap and rotor. Still nothng. Checked for fuel pump noise by unplugging starter terminal. Pump was running. Fuel had gotten to the filter up front (I cracked open the clamp). Checked for spark at the coil and at the plug wires with a multimeter and then a timing light. Have spark. Found TDC. Here was the problem: The Chilton's manual shows the #1 plug terminal on …

According to the owners manual, we are suppose to be able to jack up a 240z at the jack points along the rockers. I did this back in the late '70s with my '73. Then I tried again in the mid '80s on my '72. They were both unrestored cars that lived in northern Indiana. The sounds that were produced by thin rotten 20 gauge steel still haunt me to this day. I am sure the titanic sounded similar as it went down. My current car is a mint condition '71. Its frame is as solid as the day it came off the line. Still, I am reluctant to use the jack points. Honestly, I am reluctant to even try. 240z sheet metal is very thin. In the front, I jack up on th…

I have two different sizes of springs. One is seven coils long and one is four coils long. Should they both be seven coils long ? If so, what is the smaller one for ? Thank you very much. 71Z

So a buddy of mine just picked up this '74 260z 2+2 and brought it to me to go over it for him and take care of a list of things that needed some attention. He didn't want a full on restore since this is going to be a gift to his father for Christmas. So if anyone knows this car, please chime in! He picked it up for eBay in Maryland. Supposedly it's been in storage for the last 10 years and has only had 300 miles put on it in the last 10 years. The car only has 16,xxx original miles. I've been wrenching all my life and just moonlight for a hobby now. Here's my personal nissans: my 350z daily and my 240sx toy/project: The 240 is quite fun to drive: But anyway…

I'd like to confirm that the only purpose of the fast idel screw is to set a higher RPM (1500-3000) while balancing your carb airflow. That's my interpretation from eveything ive read. Is that right or is there another purpose? Thanks, Steve

I found this one today: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/5542244331.html Would you consider that car "fair"? Is $1500 a realistic price? I'm just curious what your opinions are. Seems to me to be just another craigslist dreamer, but maybe I'm wrong.

I hope a member or friend takes advantage of this one. C.L. Seattle. 75 and 76, car and parts car. Looks like more than enough there to finish one and sell what's left to finance the refresh. $999.00 takes it all.

Okay, configuration... I am running triple webers on an L28, fueled by a Mallory Comp Pro Series 70 (P/N 4070LP) fuel pump set at 4 psi. I was getting 2.75 psi to the fuel rail under the hood. This setup has worked flawlessly since 2010, and the webers loved it. Well I finally finished getting the dash back in the roadster and took her out for a pleasure drive for the first time in 4 months, and had to back up the Z. I just drove the Z 2 weeks ago and I swear she was running better than ever. Car has been rock solid for years. However, the thing would not start, and smelled like it was getting way too much fuel.."How can this be I thought, I have everything dialed in!"…
