morning commute - getting on the freeway so i pass the 350 and pull up alongside the lovely 240, we exchange waves, i pull away w/a light stomp to let her sing, settle back down to 60 and flashing lights appear in the mirror. nice. fortunately the trooper was a good-natured individual and i escaped unscathed...

This is a recommendation for 240zrubberparts.com. As you can see from the pictures the old rubber had deteriorated to mush. New assemblies were about $35.00 each. But 240zrubberparts.com had the rubber for only $10.00 for 2. Great quality and easy swap.

Hello, I hope everyone is having a good day. As some of you may know, our annual show is around the corner and I need help from the Z community. We are in the process of designing flyers for the event and would like to use original photos from some of the members here. Please post original pictures of your ride for a chance to be on a Z-Bash 2016 flyer. Be sure to follow us on Instagram (link below) to see who will be featured. Thank you! www.instagram.com/motorsportauto

I'm about to do a catch can setup on my 240z and wanted to hear about and see others setups. How do you like them and how do they perform?

Hi Y'all... Today is the day, RedBird had her Nasty oil changed. Whoot, whoot, whoot! It was thought that her drain plug was cross threaded since it wouldn't loosen, and because of that the long delay happened. But it was not cross threaded, just tightened way too much. We are so happy! I was concerned because I was hearing engine noises I thought I shouldn't hear. I finally asked Greg if he would suggest someone, and he told me about Pete that has worked on his Z. (Thank you SO MUCH Greg.) Well, if good enough to work on his Z, that was recommendation enough for me. Anyone think you can feel the car driving smoother? I swear she is. Enough s…

Ok, not quite the kind of day to stand outside in Wisconsin with 2" of new snow so I decided to find a project I could do inside. I had noticed the console defroster rocker switch was difficult to move back and forth so I took it apart. What I found was, well, not to sure. Needless to say the teeter plate switch that makes the contact appears good. The pressure contact (the thing with a small spring that sits end the end of the rocker switch, lower left portion in first picture) appears to have been worn down (would expect that, 3rd picture by istself). So, my question is this piece appears to possibly be non-conductive material, is that correct or was did that have …

When I bought my '72 it came with a bunch of bagged Nissan weather stripping, I've been working in the hatch weather stripping, have all the old stuff off and am ready to fit the new. The new weather stripping is very soft, which I took to be a god sign but on closer inspection it almost seems to be breaking down. There are cracks on inside the lip that would slide into the ridge and I'd imspread it it isn't smooth, you can see fht open cell foam core. I was wondering if this is normal or if it's deteriorating and I should chuck it?

Hello everyone! Proud new owner of a 1970 240z. HLS3007326 to be exact! A beautiful car. This is my first Datsun ever, and let me tell you, I am in love. I'm at work right now but I will add pictures asap! First off, the car has a rebuilt F54 block with a P79 head, both have less than 6000 miles on them. Issue at hand: The PCV tube coming off of the block is capped off with a freeze plug, the crankcase breather has quite a large hose that is venting directly to atmosphere and seems to have excessive blowby, which is pretty stinky (which is funny because one of my top reasons to buy this car was no smog checks!) and this can lead to ring failure I've read.. I've done my fa…

Trying to reassemble my 260Z installed a Crane XR 700 ignition and PS 20 coil using OEM ballast resistor the car will crank but not start. Earlier with the stock coil I had a weak spark but nothing to the plugs now nothing. Connected red wire to + yellow to - and black is secured to the coil bracket. The LED flashes when I crank so that part is correct but I still have two wires off the ballast resistor. What I need to know is which wire goes where because I tried several now this car ran before and we were about to do a V8 transplant so we took everything out of the engine bay. That plan fell through and now after several months I am trying to remember where everything p…
