Hey guys, my name is Collin and I am a 22 year old new 240Z owner! This is an absolute dream car for me, and I never thought that I'd own one this early in life, but my grandfather found an incredible deal on two that I could not pass up! One is a 1972, that'll be used for parts, and the other is a 1971, which is pictured, that'll be restored. I got all of this for $500!!! The guy has already rebuilt the carbs and done a few other things, which is awesome! I have two hoods and tons of parts and will be picking everything up on Monday! The 1971 has a few pretty bad rot spots, but that is to be expected. For the price, I am absolutely thrilled!!! My goal is to deal with all…

The 1973 240z that I've recently purchased is a 5mt. I assumed that it had some work done on it to convert it to a 5mt with a newer transmission, maybe from a 280z. However with some research and a Hayens manual, it seems that I have an original 5 speed based on my VIN and this page below. I'm wondering about how to verify that it is truly an original 5mt and if this is a big deal or not. Thanks! HLS30167378 is my VIN

Hey! I am looking for any info on what was the original battery for the 72 Z. Does anyone have pictures? I am trying to "Disguise" a new battery as the original. Any pictures are better then none and none is what I have now. if I can find a old dead battery I would consider buying it. Thanks! Polecat

I'm in the very last stages of my 1978 280Z project and I inadvertently erased the pictures of the underside of my hood and now have no visual references to replace the emissions and AC decals. I went through every forum topic and although there are several references none of the show a picture of the the underside of the 1978 hood with it's factory decals! Can anyone please help me with this?

In November of 2013 I posted the following under Plasti-Dip Longevity Report: === Just thought I'd do a follow up on a post I made a little over two years ago. I wrote about Nevr-Dull and Plasti-Dip: http://www.classiczc...metic-uses.html Two years later, going on three to four years after application, the Plasti-Dip is still a nice, solid black, unfazed by washing or heavy sun exposure. === Another two years has passed since the above and I can now report: Nothing. Absolutely no change in the Plasti-Dip. From the cap on the wheels to the back panel, the metal panel between the dash and windshield to the windshield wipers, still an unfaded, ungreyed black. I…

Guess what? The excessive heat, seemingly from the tunnel in the hot weather, is not what it seemed. I just figured it out that my sweet car has her heater running full time, no matter the weather. For these winter months, this is quite pleasurable. Unlike in the hot summer when she about cooked me. Gasp! I'm questioning, what can be done for this to make the heater work perfectly, as it should be? How can it be fixed to turn off and on? I'm asking now, so I'll have the time to get it done before hot weather strikes again. 😥 Thanks y'all, you are the best. Jai 😇 🚘

I was putting all the steering stuff back together last night. When I got out from under the car the steering coupler thing with the rubber and the metal sleeves had slid all the way out of the fire wall. I've got it "eye-balled" straight for now but learned something, tie that sucker up next time.

I sold my refreshed '71 white/blue 240Z a little over 2 years ago to a gentleman in Italy. I bought the car off the Phoenix Craigslist back in 2007 and had it shipped here to Colorado. The car had spent its entire life in the Phoenix area, was rust-free, accident-free, had all of its original sheet metal and rebuilt matching numbers engine. The body and paint work was done professionally and was a bare metal restore, with all the glass removed, the paint was closely matched to the original 904 White paint and new rubber was installed everywhere on the car. I installed new blue vinyl seat covers, door panel vinyl with chrome strips and new transmission tunnel vinyl. The r…

If one had the opportunity to obtain a rust free 1970 240z in non-running condition but with all the parts to make it run, how much would you expect to pay? Does $7K seem unreasonable?
