The check valve does have a bracket to hold it to the firewall doesn't it? I thought I had seen pics of both, with and without. Should it be held down firm? Can you leave the valve unattached? Would anyone have a bracket I could purchase? Thank you very much.

Back in '79, my first car was a '73 240z. It ran well most of the time. But those 6 years were not good to it. The frame and body were rusted so I got rid of it. In 1980, an old lady, probably in her late 20s - early 30s, who worked at a local car parts store in town had a '72 she wanted to sell. I test drove that thing one day with a friend of mine. I struggled to keep it under 10mph across the parking lot. When I got it on the highway, I had throttle left as it chirped the tires when I reached 70mph and shifted into 3rd. I now own my third 240z. My second 240 was a '72 and ran very well (except for additional rust issues). My current one has 59k miles on it an…

After 2 yrs of ownership, I finally got around to shooting my 77 280z. I spent about 10ys on & off looking for an unmolested, mostly stock example. I was lucky enough to find this one on Craigslist in Buffalo of all places. When I received it, it ran poorly, and handled worse. But it was mostly original. I've since replaced anything rubber, and all electrical connectors in the engine compartment. Along with new injectors, fuel pump fuel lines etc. Using genuine Nissan when possible. Suspension has been dealt with in a similar manner, OEM when possible, the only modifications were a set of Eibach springs, the Koenig Rewinds and cross drilled rotors and…

Hi all! I have been underground for a while working on my '76 280z. I decided to hold off posting until I had something worth showing. My 280z was a bit of a whore in a prom dress. As I disassembled it and mounted it in the rotisserie it became obvious that I had a bit of a basket case. I had a serious rust problem that started at the battery box. Acid from the battery had leaked causing damage to the wheel well, firewall, floor and frame. Some time in the past the car had been restored and the frame wrapped, then someone had run over something that caused further frame and floor pan damage. The pictures tell the story...

Thanks for any replies first of all. Is the crank nose pulley originally the block color, blue/green? Is the TDC pointer yellow cadmium? If so any recomendations on a paint color alternative? Maybe a brass or gold hobby paint? Thanks, Cliff
