I have a D6k8-02 distributor. The tangs with the threads don't line up. You can see in the pic the hole with the threads sticking out. They are supposed to be bolted together aren't they? The spacer's tang is at 9 o'clock when put in car. Should I have a different spacer? thank you very much.

Howdy, Went out to lock my car the other day, and the thing would not lock from the outside or inside. Pulled the drives side door panel and the rods off the key cylinder/lock rod and still no go. I guess it is time to replace the lock mechanism, got out my hand Z cd rom, got the part number, and guess what? No longer available! So, next was ebay, and a few there listed look beat with paint on them….. Went to Motorsport, and they don't show them anymore either…... Going to pull the old one out today, and start looking in other places. Any other options or rebuild threads? Did a quick search, and didn't see anything. Maybe it available in Canada??? Junk yard? Any …

I have always wanted a 240z & have on occasion, come close to finding one in the past. Now, I seem to have the storage & shop space to work on one ... Through an incredible & generous deal with Zup, a silver 71 240z is now part of my life. Moving it to its new home, I thought I might borrow one of these rigs... But ended up using a flatbed tow truck. Silver Z now safely in its new home. Its a pretty solid car, was sitting for a while, will need floor pans & rear wheel arches, etc. The battery area & rear deck sill are in great shape. Have not had time yet to really go over the car in detail but will soon & I am excited to start…

Dykem dye on the rockers contact pads first, let them dry. Grease the cam lobes. Do one rocker at a time. Should I put any grease on the painted rocker pad or leave them dry for the centering wipe check?

I'm going to skip a few steps here, but I thought that I would share a few pictures with my fellow z-car enthusiasts. About three years ago I bought my '76 280z which I paid too much for. The car turned into a basket case and went on a rotisserie 2 years ago for pretty extensive rust repairs (including floors and subframe on both sides). Finally, it is off the rotisserie and sitting on 4 wheels again. There is still a long way to go, but there is no denying that a milestone has been reached. Enjoy the photos.

All, Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I wanted to get some advice. I pulled a set of bumpers off a Series 1 parts car to replace the bumpers on my own Series 1. The bumpers I pulled off look good, but do have some surface rust on the interior/car facing side. How would you recommend I prep the bumpers prior to putting them on my driver? Thanks!

After almost 3 years of blood, sweat and tears, the Z is complete ( well 95% it will never be 100%). There is a ton of pictures from start until now. I know most will like and some will pick this apart, so be it. This is my first shot at a restoration and I am very pleased with the results. I am not afraid of comments and welcome them. I do want to thank CZCC and the members for all the information that I have "borrowed" to make this car "better" and will continue to use. I would like to give a special thank you to Mystic Autobody for the paint/ body work and Marks Custom Interiors for installation of headliner, seats and carpet. I also would like to give a big t…

I've lurked here for a while, but, never posted since I didn't own a z. This morning, I got a delivery. This car was purchased new by my uncle in 1976, bought by my father from him in the late 80's, and now it's mine. Currently, it's not running. My dad parked it away one winter several years ago and hasn't run it since. He tells me he's started it not too long ago, but the battery is completely dead and the fuel guage shows empty. I tried jump starting it with my truck this morning but no go. It turned over and all the electrics seems to work but it just wouldn't start. I've got the battery on a trickle charger now, although I suspect it's dead dead. I'll ge…
