I have been reading posts and videos claiming the u-joints can ve replaced using the rockford 430-10 ujoint. Fact is it CANT be replaced. The 430 had a lock of 1.4", yolk on a 280z is 1.6", its too big. No one makes a ujoint that matches. Some post said a guy used a place in portland that did it for $100. I called the shop and they said it cant be done. Lesson: dont believe what you read in the internet.

In one of our storage sheds, I found an old 1974 (early) oem exhaust. It has been in the rafters since 1975 or so. My dad bought a new 260 and in short time, swapped the carbs and exhaust. I test fit it and it fits well. I need to source a chrome tip and a couple of hangers. I am thinking of painting the rear exhaust and resonator black, but I cant decide if I should just clean the pipes up as best I can, or hit them with some silver. Or should I keep the header pipe and scrap the rest? I think it would be neat to have an original exhaust, assuming the entire inside isnt completely trashed. Any thoughts?

Not sure where or when I got this, but I found it in a stash of stuff I was going through that I've had for years. I know it's incorrect to think of him designing the car, but where would this come from? It's a grill badge, and really good quality.

I previously produced and sold about 120 sets out, over a five year period. I'm giving serious consideration to producing another batch, but wanted to gauge interest first, as my cost is rather steep and I don't want to get stuck with a mess of them. These are OEM quality or better, with the mold marks for left and right sides and come with install instructions and fasteners. I expect the price to be in the area of $130 a pair. Those of you who have purchased some of the first batch will hopefully vouch for the quality. Any interest?

been working away on the test stand. other than an intermittent spark (think its a wire harness issue with the CAS but still need to confrim that with some more testing) all going well. I tested the idle up servo for the AC control. Works by applying a vacuum to a small hose, this allows bypass air to increase thus upping the idle speed. Works great. Question, the FSM calls 12v to be applied when the FICD is active. This goes to Pin 22. I cant for the life of me figure out what its supposed to do. If the idle up servo is work to increase the bypass air, what could the ECU add? If the ECU is only responsible for fuel mix and ignition fire and time, I would assume…

I really like the look of dual mirror symmetry and having a usable passenger side mirror.

Been around Z's a while and know most usual suspects in gas fume and exhaust issues with these cars, but...... Series 1 car, I have dropped tank, replaced all vent lines with no kinks, pressure checked expansion tank on right side, checked for fuel leaks front to back. The issue is raw gas fumes present in garage when car sits overnight, and sometimes driving with certain combinations of window configurations (drivers window down and passenger window cracked). Checked filler tube seal, filler tube vent line to expansion tank, replace PCV valve, all lines to flow valve guide are good. No exhaust fumes at all, just raw gas. The car has after market …

The "air supplier tube" is #13 in the attached diagram. What purpose does it serve? Where does it go (looks like towards the engine bay)?

My car is a 3/72 and I just reinstalled the wire harness and dash. I noticed in the manual and wiring diagram a key buzzer in the area of the pedal box. I cant find the wires that would have gone to the buzzer. Did all the 240z's have a buzzer? I just have what I believe is the flasher relay. Although, I had two wires coming out of the key switch which I would a assume would be the trigger for the buzzer. My flasher has a white wire and a green wire, as described in the wiring diagram. Buzzer is shown as Yellow and red wires. I dont think they are in my harness.
