I'm looking for the correct air cleaner for my Z (12/70). Does the correct one have the downward snorkel? I'm sure the answer lies somewhere on this site, but I have searched and found no results. Carl, I know that you know. Thanks for your help...

When I bought my car it had the regular Nissan OHC valve cover and air cleaner with the Summer/Winter flap and port for a warm air tube on the bottom of the snorkel. Based on the "before" pictures the previous owner supplied the engine at one time had the "Nissan 2400 OHC" valve cover on it but the front snorkel of the air cleaner had been cut off. This leads me to believe my car truly should have the "2400" valve cover but I am not sure if I have the correct style air cleaner. I think I should have the non-S/W flap and no warm air tube. My car is a 08/1970 build. I cannot find the cut off months for when these two items were changed. Before I shell out big bucks fo…

I recently bought a rolling shell that I will fix up and get back on the road. Very new to the s30 game this is my first one. I was wondering what year it is from because I've noticed some places online say that there is differences in the 75-76 and the 77-78 when it comes to parts. I figured it out guys thank you

After much thought, I plan to store the other love of my life in my basement for a few years. Money is tighter than ever and that raise I was promised didn't turn out to be what I expected. Every month finds us stretching my income as far as possible while my wife continues her classes to one day become a Registered Dietician. With no grants or financial aid help at all, I can't afford to do any maintenence/repairs on the Datsun now if I had to. So, anyway, I'm fortunate enough to have a garage door around back that I can roll the 280Z in until she finishes school and starts making some big buck$. I've read about adding fuel stabilizer and filling the tank up to the n…

I am helping a friend revive a 1970 240Z that had been sitting in a barn for 22 years. It is a bit of a mess, but we got it started without much drama using gas from a gas can. The problem is a blockage in the hard line coming out of the gas tank. We drained about 2 gallons of amber colored and very stinky gas out of the tank, but the hard line in the tank is blocked. We have tried using a flexible wire to clear it as well as compressed air without luck. Is this a common problem with cars that have been sitting for a long time? The blockage appears to be maybe a mix of rust and hardened varnish, although it is hard to tell. Thanks!

Hello all, I'm a newbie to these forums, and still don't own a Z. I've been trying to track one down for a long time now and think I may have found it. A guy at work has a 70 or 71 240Z (will update tomorrow when I talk to him again) in great cosmetic condition, but does not run. The engine and manual trans are there, but it's been sitting for a few years. Apparently the fuel pump needs to be replaced and a new battery. I'm pretty good about getting an engine to run, but there may be some surprises. The interior has been mostly redone, but it is missing the wood shift knob (thief). Good upholstery, paint is pretty good orange though not original. I haven't see…

I've been away from the forums for a few years. I've lost interest in my two custom Z's and am in the process of selling them. I have several NOS parts in the original boxes and wrapping . I would appreciate some imput on what value they have...... 2 front bumpers # 62650- E4103....2 rear bumper corners #85005-N3400...2 rear corners # 85006-N3400 and 2 "Datsun" sill plates #76950-E4100. I'd really appreciate any help on these. BTW, Zs have been in my blood since the 70's and have had 7 of them, just tired of building and working on them. The two I have are being replaced by a 2014 370Z Roadster. Thanks again, AL
