A quick question for you knowledgeable folks - the tool kit that came with my 1971 240Z has rigid one piece, non-folding wheel chocks. I picked up another Nissan tool bag that includes two folding wheel chocks. Are the folding wheel chocks from a different year or is this tool bag for a different model Datsun? Any thoughts? thanks

Hi all, I've done some searching but can't find others solutions ... i had to replace the gas tank on my 240 so I purchased a beautiful (really) used tank. When preping to put it all back on the car, I noticed both of the lines coming out of the front of the tank (return and inlet) are 5/16" .... the return line on my car is 1/4" hard line... The tank may have been from a later model, mine is a 72' it fits perfect otherwise. What have others on the forum used as a reducer for this? Or am i the first to run across this? Thanks in advance.

I was about to pull my hair out trying to find the 9mm wide wipers 18" long. On my way to Walmart I stopped at O'Reilly's. After looking at EVERY 18" they had a young man ask if I needed any help. I explained how I'd have to buy the "dumbed down" wiper assembly and remove the rubber to keep my original look. He went behind the counter and came back with the exact size refills only. Trico 44-180, $6.99 for both! Don't understand why they are hidden but I don't care now that I know. O'Reilly's also has the clear plastic fuel filter for $3.49. They are 240Z friendly. Monday I was about to order the K&N air filter for my 240, $55 at amazon.com. On a wh…

Things are rolling pretty quickly with my 72 240z restoration. I purchased it three weeks ago, and I've been hitting it hard trying to take advantage of the abnormally warm winter weather and complete as much mechanical progress as possible. The vehicle has a small gas tank (that is hooked up) that the p/o put in the hatch area, and threw in the original gas tank in the back for me when I purchased it. Today I took a closer look at it. I've seen numerous opinions here- take it apart and sandblast it and then weld it back together, have it acid dipped, or replace. From Marine Clean and POR 15 kits, I've looked at a lot of options. My only two options are to buy another one…

My 1970 1st gen Z project was running great, my technician friend installed LEDs in the dash, and a couple other things- he came upon this part, which did not appear to be attached to anything, mans he thought it was part of an old mod- there was one ground wire going to it. He removed it, and now car runs in idle, but if I drive, it will make it for about a quarter of a mile, then stall dead. Then won't turn over without a charge. What the hell is this piece? Or is it just a coincidence and related to something else?? Please help!!!!!

Well guys, this is my first Z but not my first Datsun. I've had an '81 210, and a 75 620 with a build LZ22. I came across this 240Z from a customer at work, who I've been helping along for years, hoping one day he'll remember me if he ever decided to sell it. Fortunately, the day came. I picked up this car so cheap, I won't say because I'm afraid I'll break someone's heart. She's a 100% legit 03/70 with a vin of 2563. Yep, Pretty freaking early since the '69's vin ran up to somewhere in the area of 1700. It's complete, and seems to have an original 55,000 miles! No worn pedal pads, dash has one small crack, seats are good except some small cracking, interior is complete…
