Garage find 1 2

Hi guys. I can't not brag about my luck. Sorry. I just can't. I found this in a clients garage. At the moment I am not 100% sure of what I have but what I do know is that is a 77 280 with a solidly built 350 installed using a JTR kit. It has a turbo 350 with a ratchet shifter. The car was built in 1998 and the owner drove it one time. It scared him so bad he put it in the garage. It had not seen daylight until yesterday. It is as rolled onto the trailer, dust and all. There is a bunch of new parts, especially interior. I has a time slip of 12.22 with it, a weight slip show 1400 lbs on the front axle, 1400 on the rear. It hasn't been started since 1999. I am goi…

One writer's perspective anyway. Probably just another case of stifled Datsun lust! http://wallstcheatsheet.com/automobiles/5-older-cars-that-are-almost-extinct.html/?a=viewall

Spent a full day chasing my tail helping a friend with his newly imported California series 1. Just when it is tuned and on its way home the "micro" fuel pump fails but still buzzes. Made in China crap. Previously it was working fine. Ended up limping back to my place and scavenging from a few beater mechanical clackers, threw on a G2 filter, and it went on it's way. I did improve my method for tuning fuel and balancing carbs so it was not so bad.

As time goes on with my Z project, I stopped adding up the receipts and just sick them into a binder. I am sure that in the end I will have spend FAR MORE then I can ever get for the car. So the spending goes on..... The most resent spree is the dash. I wanted to just put a full cap on and get the gauges looking nice and running but the deeper I got, the more I thought "Oh! I Can Fix That Too!" So now with a second dash frame being prepped for restoration, The entire Heater box, fan being rebuild including replating all the nuts, screws, bolts washers, linkage, including painstakingly replacing all the foam seals with "As Close As I Can Get" replacements, I am now looking…

My bumpers are away for re-chroming. I found the longer front and rear rubber strips ( 4 pieces ), but not the 4 ones ( 2 front and 2 rear ) for the bumper guards.. If anyone has them and willing to sell + ship, let me know. Gr Bart

Does anyone in the fórum has an extra license plate light that will fit on my 1972 240z for sale? I do have the original one but it is bent by the heat taken throughout the last 42 years. JDM- Car parts and MSA used to sell them but it seems they are out of stock. I can settle for a used one but in great shape and with its screws and tabs in place.

Basically, I found this 1973 240z through word of mouth. It was not listed for sale anywhere. The story is it was an older gentleman's old time hot rod. He had a heart attack. I bought it from the guy's sister. My only intention is to get it in the hands of a Z fan, and not cut up or in the scrap yard. When I bought it, the car was on jack stands. There is the typical rust. The guy clearly loved the car at one point. I bought it with clear New Mexico title, soon to be in my name in a Georgia title. It has Montana and West Virginia stickers on the rear bumper. Here's what I've found out so far: -PO refinished wheels, brake drums (I had to put the wheels on car at purch…

My 1972 Z has the dealer installed AC. I know I can just start taking things apart, but if any of the forum members have some helpful tips on how to approach this I would be most thankful. I know I have a leak, but, at this time, don't know if it is the core or one of the hoses. As far as I know, this one owner car, before I bought it last year, has not had anyone try to get to the heater since the car was new. Thanks, Charlie
