Looks like the lead actor on the new TV show Scorpion on CBS is driving an orange or red (110 red) 77 or 78 280. It even had what looks like duct tape on the passengers seat. The rest of the car looked very good. FYI

I've stripped the soft vinyl trim out my 70 Z's interior and I'm now attempting to remove the old contact cement from the interior (painted metal) surfaces. Naptha is proving to be only sort of ok. It's effective only in the lightly-coated areas. It doesn't seem to do much more than encourage lightly-gripping glue remnants to roll up into 'balls' (after much scrubbing with a naptha-soaked cloth). Household glue remover ('Goof Off') seems to be better at actually dissolving the glue, but the contact area of the cloth quickly gets loaded up with dissolved glue and then it feels like I'm just rubbing dissolved glue into the stuck-on glue. Anybody got any secret tips for …

Last night's Dateline show included shots of a 280Z driven by the murderer. Narrator described it as a "cool car". Wonder who is driving it now?

Alright so I've searched around and still cannot nail down the problem I'm having. I bought a 1976 280Z a few months back, ran and drove fine except for an exhaust leak at the manifold. I swapped the manifold for a header and ever since then it refuses to idle. The car will crank up and start, and it will stay running if you hold the gas and keep it in the upper rpms. But as soon as you let off the gas or try to let it idle it starts to stumble then shuts off. It almost sounds like its not running on all cylinders. Any idea what could be causing this? I've checked all of the fuel lines, filters, etc. It's not a smog motor and the only major things done to it are an A/C de…

Hello to all. I'm Bill in Houston. This is my first post here. I'm about to buy a car for my girlfriend-she doesn't have a car now. I drive a '06 Grand Marquis and was thinking of getting her a '07-09 Marquis(those cars are reliable and have such poor resale value). But I've been fascinated with the Z cars since I was a kid. I thought about getting a 240/260/280Z for me and give her my car. Are mechanical parts for them still easy to find? Are they fairly reliable? Would one make a good daily driver? I won't be able to have the Z for an "extra", it will have to be my way to work if I get one. I'm not really concerned with cosmetics or finding body parts-just keeping it ru…

When I saw a commercial for this show a few weeks ago, there was a half-second interior shot of a guy holding a familiar steering wheel... sure enough, now that its aired, in the show's pilot he's driving a 240Z. So, all of us emotionally detached IT geniuses who drive Z's should be flattered, I guess? 35 minutes in, and the show's not terrible. I am glad there aren't the typical ridiculously implausible technologies I see on other shows all the time. Well, there is the "hack a network in 5 seconds" crap, but it's only an hour TV show and you have to move the plot along . I'm not sure why the waitress is driving him to the airport at high speed in her Golf rather than …

So I was having some hesitation at WOT and some funny starting issues which felt like fuel delivery problems (they were, due to a clogged pre-pump fuel filter) and when I went to check my fuel pressure, the gauge had crapped out - again. This is the second one I've had, and both lasted a couple of months before dying. My gauge is installed with a brass T fitting just after the fuel filter in the engine bay, and I've been using generic hardware-store variety pressure gauges ($10) so no huge disappointment, but I wanted to find out what the problem was. Probably because my pre-pump filter was so filthy, the pump was working hard to keep up pressure (which was causing the s…

I found a 240z that has been on the road since 2006. With tons of extra part that will go with the car. What i did is oil change, clean the plugs, new wires, cap, rotor, points, clean the gas tank, lines bleed the brakes, clean the inside, removal tree sap, power wash and polish the car. Got her started then SU rounds tops crap out. So i clean them out and took me a away to adjust them.
