Hello everyone, looking to put my gas tank back in and was looking for a vendor who sells the complete hose kits, including clamps. I would rather buy it at one place instead of buying searching multiple vendors. Thanks!

Hi All, I need a fuel filler hose for a '78 280 Z. I'm stuck on a rack at a garage and mechanic can't find one. Mechanic says the one he did find was a year off, '77, '79, who knows, says he can't remember. He said it was 1/4 inch shy of making a good connection (!?) I can't get smogged (CA) without one. I tried buying the only one that looked like it would fit from ebay, but the seller said it was sold a long time ago <grrr>. There is one more at ebay, but even though seller says it's for '77-'78 here, it doesn't look right compared to mine (attached). It looks more like pics i've seen for earlier 280Z's. A '78 hose has some weird bends in it. I emailed MSA (out…

I apologize cause i know this subject has been touched on so many times but i'm really stuck here. I get nasty smells (guessing it's a rich condition) from my 1977 280z at idle and WOT, smells fine when cruising. it used to smell during cruising as well however went away after getting my EGR to work properly. Coolant sensor - all within range according to FSM New AFM (or rebuilt one MSA sells) All fuel hoses replaced, fuel pressure (~29psi at idle, ~33psi with throttle) Adjusted TPS to break from idle with slight throttle and connect full enrichment at almost full throttle (checked fine for continuity at ECU at idle and WOT) New distributor vacuum advance Replaced all …

Alright, so a friend's dad is willing to sell me his '77 280z for only $600. From the outside I can't see any rust, but it reaaallllyyy needs a paint job. Being only 17 and not having every tool I would possibly need, should I go ahead and just bite the bullet and get it? Also wondering where to look for signs of rust. He says the radiator needs to be cleaned he says, not to sure what i'd have to do for that. Any advice would be amazing and I'm ready to post pictures if anyone wants to see more! Thanks!

Hoping someone on the forum can match this Nissan Tool kit with the appropriate car! I have been through the forums regarding the various tools and kits available for the S30 but could not find any reference to an "assembled kit" available from Nissan. Also looked through my parts manual and microfiche I have for various other older Nissan and Datsun models but could not find any picture or reference to the kit I have posted in the pictures below. Can anyone shed some light on this? Kit looks to never have been used and contains the following: (1) Philips head screwdriver (stamped Nissan) (1) Slot head screwdriver (stamped Rabit) (1) feeler gauge - (stamped SD - co…

Wanted to get some input. Doing a total modified rebuild on a 1971 240Z. Engine is basically stock. I could clean, paint and reinstall the original radiator which is in good shape. Or should I replace it with a new aluminum radiator? Will it make a difference going with a 2 or 3 row radiator? There are many around $130-$150 on Ebay. Is there a difference in quality or are they all basically the same. I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. Kevin

I have a 73 240z that has both a mechanical and electric fuel pump from the factory. I want to use the electric pump and delete the mechanical pump. Do I need a fuel pressure regulator or not, and how much cfm does the factory pump push. My motor has a healthy cam, 6 to1 header, and work needles in bell top SU carbs. All help is appreciated. Thanks

On my 77 280 I usually don't let my fuel level get below 1/2 a tank. However, this time I let it got down to just below 1/4 of a tank. When I removed the gas cap at the gas station I got this "strong" vacuum suction sound. It was strong enough that the guy on the other side of the pump heard it. I don't recall hearing this at all before. Maybe its always been that way and I just didn't really pay it any mind before? Who knows. Anyone experience this or something similar. Our 05 Altima doesn't even do this.

Yes the folks at Nissan have too much time on their hands - and plenty of creativity. See the Nissan Leaf 'Pickup' Project Car.

My 78 didn't come with a splash guard inside the rear wheel well of the driver's side but does have one in the passenger side. I remove the passenger side guard whenever I swap the pre-pump fuel filter for better access. My driver's side would benefit from a similar piece since my botched exhaust work really stands out. Is there a logical reason that the driver's side well did not come with one of these? Before I get crafty with some sheet metal, is there any harm in covering that gap? I'm guessing it wouldn't matter a bit but wanted to throw it out there before I find my tin snips.
