Yes the folks at Nissan have too much time on their hands - and plenty of creativity. See the Nissan Leaf 'Pickup' Project Car.

My 78 didn't come with a splash guard inside the rear wheel well of the driver's side but does have one in the passenger side. I remove the passenger side guard whenever I swap the pre-pump fuel filter for better access. My driver's side would benefit from a similar piece since my botched exhaust work really stands out. Is there a logical reason that the driver's side well did not come with one of these? Before I get crafty with some sheet metal, is there any harm in covering that gap? I'm guessing it wouldn't matter a bit but wanted to throw it out there before I find my tin snips.

This problem has been asked and answered in the archives, but I must admit I’m still confused. Hoping someone who has done the fix can help. My passenger side door will close, but only the first of two “clicksâ€. The second lob on the catch doesn’t catch properly. The solution from the archives…â€ I discovered that there's a little rubber boot that's supposed to fit over the lobe on the latch. Over the years, as the door sags, the rubber boot wears out and drops off. Just the loss of thickness of that boot causes the latch to begin to rotate too late as the door is closed, which makes it difficult to close without slamming. My solution? Get a new boot. Trouble…

Wix 51521 came up as one of the filters for the 240z when I ordered a bunch of stuff from rock auto. I think it was on sale so I ordered 2. I believe this is the same filter as the Napa 1521, I was surprised at how short it was vs what I was replacing ( see picture), I'll never understand why there are so many different Olaf filters? In the future I'll get the Wix 51515, but in the meantime, has any one had problems with the shorter filters? Since they are listed for the 240z I can't see a problem, other than longevity. Thanks! Steve

My 1971 Z has a factory replacement door skin that was not punched for the large hole that locates the side mirror. I have a new stock mirror to install and want to locate it in the correct spot. Could someone please provide a simple diagram for the large mirror whole location. Thank you Z experts!

Hello Guys, I am hoping that someone might be able to help me out here. I've gotten good advice previously here that has been very helpful. What I have ~ '72 240Z. It has an L28 motor. I found a semi close ratio 5 spd that I am swapping in. Pulled the tranny. And my philosophy is when you are that deep, replace the clutch set. Looked like the flywheel needs to be resurfaced but the rear engine main seal seems to be leaking so should do everything while I am in that deep. So, here is the problem. Did a lot of PB blaster to hopefully get things ready to loosen up. One flywheel bolt loosened up. The next one spins. It doesn't come out any at all. I can turn it with a r…

Looks like I will need to put a helicoil in at least one of my crank/flywheel holes. They are not out yet, so I don't know the size and thread. I am sure there are lots of smart folks out there that can tip me off so I can order the right parts in advance. Also I will need new flywheel bolts. So any advice on buying those would be appreciated also. Thank you for your knowledge and help! John

Here's what I did today. It was fun. Sat there talking with a buddy of mine catching up on lost time.Just a few of my favorites. My Z looked good sitting there. And just the other day I said I was going to sell it. What was I thinking.

This morning, Jason, Bill and I drove out to Great Falls for Katie's Cars & Coffee. It was good morning and great to have three 240Z's there, along with an eclectic assortment of cars.

I took a look at this today here in Richmond. A local car broker picked it up from the owner since 1972. She had rust repaired and paint (purple) in 1984. Matching Engine, 75000 miles, He is trying to establish a value and make some decisions about whether to sell as is or paint it and do some minor work on it prior. It was originally the mustard yellow. It has one spider crack in the dash.
