ever since i got the car, i've had these "things" falling out of my heater vent from time to time - usually land on my left foot and roll around on the carpet. they look like big cheerios, sort of a hardened oatmeal consistency, crumble to dust if you aren't careful picking them up. they are about 3/4" or so in diameter, and there have been probably 8 or 10 of them that have plunked out over the past few months, more at first, now only rarely. one fell out this afternoon and i have no idea what they are. could a mysterious gremlin be living in my hvac system and pooping out these things?? or are they dead tribbles??

Brought home my first z yesterday. The car appears to be in good shape with no rust, straight body, one owner, 88k miles. Cost me $7k... I think it's a fair price based on what I've seen. Thanks in advance for all of the help, looking forward to start digging in.

Well, let's start with the good - the new master cylinder has solved my braking issues. And now let's get to the part that's even worse... So the exhaust is shot, that was a known factor, and we knew the EGR tube was rotted out. What we didn't know until today is that the EGR port on the exhaust manifold was welded up by the PO, badly. We also didn't see that the manifold was cracked until we tried replacing the EGR tube. Does anyone know which exhaust manifolds fit a bone stock Federal L28 - and then the next part of the question: does anyone have one in good nick lying around that they'd be willing to sell? Trying to get this back on the road is killing me with one …

Hello all, I am in the process of buying a 72 240z. And would like your thoughts on if I should pull the trigger and buy the vehicle. It is a rust free car, all original paint. Has about 130 xxx plus miles. Car does not run, needs clutch and brake cylinder replaced. Seller is seeking $2900 for it and I am wondering what do you guys think about the asking price ? Car will need new interior, dash has a few cracks, and I'm not even sure if motor will run after fixing clutch and brake cylinder. The body itself is in solid condition minus a dent on the hood. It is not a local seller so I have not seen the car in person as well.

Does anybody know if it is possible to add an AC sysyem to a 1972 240Z? If so, where would I purchase the system?

Hi just became the proud owner of a 1972 240Z its a little rougher around the edges than it looks in the picture My plan is to keep it on the road during the summers and work on bigger projects through the winter. There are a number of things that need addressing right away, a new brake booster for starters. I need to give it a good tune for starters, check the compression etc. I have a little experience with SU Carbs but they ones I fooled around with was on my Dad's old MG and he always kept it in tip top condition. I'm going to follow this post up with my first question, Thanks, Steve

Correct Decals 1 2

I am starting to gather all the bits for re-assembly and have a question about the engine bay decals. The car is a 1970 shipped to Canada (S/N HLS30UN006513), so it is a non-emission set-up car. My question is "what are the correct decals for the air cleaner box and the under side of the hood"? Are the ones that are sold by various suppliers for a 1970 correct? Thanks Dan

Hi I did a search but couldn't find exaclty what I was looking for. First, I see that I can buy braided hose at quite a bit more expensive than the regular formed Rad and heater hoses. Is the braided hose significantly better or is the braiding for originality? Second I had a leak on my Manifold Heater Hose, (Rear Intake Manifold to Rear Tube, on a 1972 240Z), I took it off and it looks to be 1/2" diameter, is that right or is it 5/8" Thanks! Steve
