Is there a way to tell? I test it every time there's a clear road ahead and no cops, but so far it's clear as mud. About half the time it will pull hard with no miss up to 5000 rpm (no use going higher as it quits pulling - from my reading it seems to be inherent with the stock Y-70 head and cam, great mid-range though), but frequently there will be a miss (just feels like it's not pulling) at about 4700. Once in a while it happens about 4300. Only seems to happen in first and second (it's an AT) but it's hard to test it in high since 4500 gets me to about 95mph (on the speedometer, running slightly smaller than stock tires). Fuel pressure is OK, about 3.9 psi, only drops…

monday afternoon i was fiddling with the AFM to lean out the mixture - my wife was driving behind me and said the car smelled very rich and was "making smoke" when i would accelerate. popped plugs - a little dark, some oil on a couple of them, leaned out the AFM via the spring wheel/gear by 4 teeth, took it up the street to a long gradual hill for a load test. from stop i punched it up to 5K in first, then second up to 5K then clutch in, turn off key, coast to stop, check plugs, lean out some more. did this twice - on the second time, i revved to 5,500 and the brake light came on (odd) right before i turned off the key. when i started her up, there was a strange whining/w…

I'm posting this here because it's important and because this seems to be the most viewed forum. Please feel free to move and/or repost! I've become aware of a serious security hole in Internet Explorer that currently has no fix: Vulnerability Note VU#222929 - Microsoft Internet Explorer use-after-free vulnerability Everyone is advised to use a different browser until a fix is available, for instance Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Both are free and downloadable: Firefox: Download Firefox ? Free Web Browser ? Mozilla Chrome: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/ Those of you with Windows XP will not be getting a fix via automatic updates, as update support f…

I've been looking through the posts from here and other sites, but can't seem to find any info on tucking the early bumpers without replacing them with 240z bumpers. If anyone happens to have cut the stock mounts and modified the length, please give me some insight and pics if you have any. My mechanic/body work shop was going to cut the stock mounts to shorten them then reattach them. But never having done it, I was hoping to know/learn anything to look out for.

I just got notice from Norton that the club site is vulnerable to the HeartBleed virus and personal information may be available. Any of the site moderators know about this?

My son and I want to clean up / simplify the engine compartment and entire dash on his '72 complete resto. We want to keep the rear drum system and e-brake, but get rid of the factory brake warning light system on the fire wall and the factory proportioning valve - install an Arizona Z proportioning or another aftermarket one. We're completely removing the dash and existing electrical so we don't have issues with warning lights. Any insight on the above reduction and simplification?

Where can i purchase a set that includes the driver and passenger door together with the hatch lock with one key for all the locks? I have been looking on ebay but have only found some guys at thailand and singapore which dont seem to respond to any query. So, I have a problem that has been plaguing me and have done a fair amount of googling and searching on here and other Z sites and haven't found the bucket to stick my problem into to troubleshoot. Please see the video below. Here is a description and some details: The car's idle speed will "hang" after acceleration. For instance, accelerate through a gear up to 3k,4k, etc rpm. Push in the clutch and you would expect rpms to rather expediently hit idle, but here it drops from the initial high to 2.5k rpm rather quick then takes 10-20 seconds to cover the next 1600 rpm back to idle. 1978 280z Deleted AAR and the coolant plate under it A/C idle increase arm …
