Well after being out of the car game for about a year now I've spent the last few months looking for a new project and I found it last week. It is a 1977 280z black on black 4spd with 140k miles originally a Vegas car which was good news for me considering I live in New Jersey. The current owner bought it two years ago with plans on restoring it and they just never got around to it. They recently decided they wanted to sell it so they replaced the fuel pump and brakes. I went down last week to check the car out and of course it had rust but nothing that was too concerning for me. Car does start right up but isn't running too good (I've posted in the "Electrical" section …

Oil pressure ? 1 2

Have a question re: oil pressure. I've put 2 new oil pressure senders on my 75 280 and still have a really low reading on the gauge. I replaced the electrical connector to the sender and I am sure the rest of the wire is intact. I know that oil is circulating well up into the head(don't ask), but the gauge reads low. I know that some of these old gauges aren't real accurate, so just curious if I should be real concerned about this issue? Thanks Mike

Hope everyone is well. Just wanted to post up, introduce myself and get acquainted with the site and the members :classic: I'm Hunter, younger than most Z owners probably, come from a newer generation of cars, know my way around a boosted car and this will be my first go with carbs and an older vehicle in general! Always loved old classics and the 240 always had a spot in my heart. My current car has absolutely nothing wrong with it, had it for a while, always keep it current and did all the work myself. I got froggy one day and said screw it, I need a change of pace. So I put it up for sale and am looking to buy a Z. I hope I am making a wise decision here fellas! Anywa…

Hi all, I do not own a Z at the moment, therefore, I won't be introducing myself (yet) in the introduction topic. I do plan, on buying a 280Z. This will happen in the next few months. Although, I will do a short introduction.. My name is Jacco van der Zaag, and I live in The Netherlands. I'm 20 years old, serve at the Submarine Service, and I'm a carnut. I own 4 cars at the moment, which are: 1986 Fiat Ritmo (Strada) 130TC Abarth 1992 Alfa Romeo 75 2.0TS 1980 Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2.0 1989 Nissan Sunny 1.6 Coupé I am almost done with rebuilding the Ritmo and Alfetta. They will be my cruizing mobiles. the 75 is going to be a trackday car, and the Sunny is my daily driver. …

I have a note attached to my 71Z heater core. (it's out of the car). The note is partially ruined. Does foam attach to the side, top, etc. of the core? Would anyone know where it attaches or is there a picture somewhere? I can't find any. Thank you, TimsZ

Hey guys, I just got my car back from the body shop and can't remember for the life of me how the horns mount back up. I feel like I'm missing a piece. Can someone please post a couple pics of how the horns mount on a stock body 280z? (Mine is a 78..though I would think all 280's have the same mounting). Thanks!

Engine bay was stripped and painted, extra wiring and brackets deleted and a nice newly rebuilt F54/P79 engine T4 Turbonetics turbo and the new MS3-Pro management system she is ready for exhaust then tuning.. This is gonna be fun!!!

Its been a while sense my last post about the 72 project so I thought I give a heads up on the progress! In the beginning when I said I was going to restore this car, I had a lot of people including some family member and good friends that said I should just get it running. But I wanted to restore and have virtually a new 1972 240Z. So after a couple of years into the project, the body is about to get a complete make over with new panels and original paint, every nut, bolt steel part that was ZINC coated getting a new coat and now decided to post a couple of pics! Enjoy! Polecat

I am curious what people think about 260s. I bought the car I wanted, a 240 with 280 motor and 5 speed for 3500. Turned out the frame was bent so the shop offered a gold 260 with little rust and blown head for 3k. I am putting the car together to make one good one, and I like the more solid construction of the 260 frame. So aside from the fact I overpaid for everything and was screwed on what looked like a good car - is a 74.5 260 worth a full resto?
