I am curious what people think about 260s. I bought the car I wanted, a 240 with 280 motor and 5 speed for 3500. Turned out the frame was bent so the shop offered a gold 260 with little rust and blown head for 3k. I am putting the car together to make one good one, and I like the more solid construction of the 260 frame. So aside from the fact I overpaid for everything and was screwed on what looked like a good car - is a 74.5 260 worth a full resto?

I've been having some problems getting my timing right as I'm sure some of you know from my numerous threads on this issue.. The engine is out of a 79ZX and timing should be 10°. After setting up #1 to TDC with the crank timing mark at 0 and the oil pump key as shown in several pics and the FSM at 11:25, the timing is about 40° and won't retard any further. It appears to me that I will have to change the oil pump shaft to about 12:30 in order to get to the correct timing. The cam and crank timing marks have been checked several times and are correct. I removed the dizzy set screw to move the dizzy CCW to get to 10° and its about 3/8" from the lockdown point of dizzy, s…

What is the correct fuel hose size going from tank to G2 fuel filter then to airtek electric pump then to supply line. I have 1/4 going from supply line under hood to the fuel rail. I searched everywhere and cant find the answer. Right now I have 3/8 which is too big on those 3 sections.

Noticed my fuel pressure fluctuates a lot (up to 1.5 psi) when driving with a full tank. When it's half full it fluctuates a little, and when it's 1/4 full or less it's almost rock steady at 3.9 psi. Seem like the tank's not venting enough. Cleaned and tested the flow valve a while back, think it's OK but not sure. Not using a vented gas cap. Was able to blow through the line from the flow valve to the tank or wherever it goes, but it might be partly blocked with corrosion or something. Not using a return line, maybe it would work as a tank vent, unless there's something else I'm not seeing. Don't want to cause a gas smell. According to ZTherapy video, fuel pressure affec…

If you were to go to an automotive event and have a costume-sort of getup, would you wear this Datsun-themed jacket? Also, I found a Datsun-themed duffel bag. It is 45 x 27 x 25 cm (18x1x10 inches.) It just big enough to put your sneakers and a dry T-shirt into. You would need another bag for your clothes and gear. I suppose you could wear your CZCC hat or other Datsun hat, and a pair of jeans. What else would you need? Did John Morton wear sunglasses?

I've used this stuff for a decade and it works great on all my cars. It's a wonderful wax that can be put on in direct sunlight, without leaving swirls. It cleans up old, bad wax jobs. Brightens up old paint jobs (did great in my 88 t-bird that looked like crap and this brought it back). This stuff also works as a great tool to take off small marks, stains and surface scratches left from other paint sources, also as a good chrome and window shine/rain x type product. Check out any source only to get it. I usually pay $20 for 2 bottles that last me a long time. I don't sell this stuff, nor do I work for them, but I figured I would put this here to help anyone looking for …

I am in WANT of a 5 speed for my 71 Z. The current Type B four speed I bought from zcarsource and the reverse gear has knocked since day one. They offered to fix it for a fee if I ship it to them. I am was inclined to ship it but once you calculate shipping there and back and then the price for fixing it (he was going to work with me on the repair price) not sure I am not better off doing something else. I have my orginal 4 speed that was smooth since day one, just it was a sloppy shifting Type A unit. It worked, but the B types shifting feel is so much better. I could put the A type unit back in. Since I know the B type problems are isolated to the Reverse shaft, I …
