I'm so stupid I lost my 240z key and I don't have spare key. I was planning to replace key anyway. I have a whole set of replacement tumblr. After struggling unlock the door using wire hunger, I managed to open the door. Remove door inside panel and replace the tumblr. Now, I can't lock the door. When I insert key and turn the cylinder there are too much loose connection. Does anyone have tips to adjust lock? Thanks, Tamo3

Hey mates I've asked this question before but for the life of me can't seem to find it again. The connector that connects the temperature guage to the sensor in the thermostat housing. Does anyone know where to get one as mine is....er....falling apart. Thanks Jan

I'm rebuilding my SU carbs and I'm trying to do a thorough job of cleaning them and getting them all nice and shiny. Some of the linkage bits were rusty so I dunked them in a jar of rust remover. Now they're all nice and clean but the paint is completely gone so they're metallic silver. The original color looks kind of like brass but I bought a can of metallic brass spray paint and it didn't match up. Has anyone tried to repaint their linkage back to the original color and have any tips? I'm not great with paint work. I've attached a pic of some restored ones so you can see what I mean.

Yes. I know that there are many threads about this. They all seem to say multiple things however, and i figure might as well get it straight. I have a pertronix installed, and a 3 ohm coil. Bypassed resistor, the car runs great, pulls hard, yada yada. My tach however, starts to bounce around 3500rpm. If i stay in a slow acceleration, it seems to track for a while longer, but then bounces, and with WOT, it just bounces around between 2500 and 5500. I have heard go back to points. I have heard get a new tach. What does one really need to do to fix this?

In my 72 240z I have a 3.9 r180 dif. I also have a 4.11 diff in my garage. My car is fun now but one day I would like to go with a turbo. I have read an r 180 is fine if the turbo is stock . Is this true ? and how much HP can i go to with the 180 ? and would 4:11 be too low of gearing for a turbo set up ? thanks DC

So I purchased a 1975 280Z parts car. In the back were 4 hub caps wrapped in newspaper. I was thinking of drilling a hole in the center and putting a clock mechanism in the back. You guys think they would make great wall decorations?

I want to thank everyone for the info that made it possible to bring another Z[s30] back from the grave. The previous owner bought it as a project and coud not get it running, so he sold it. Thanks to this forum here's what I found before I turned the key; missing cam oiler, oil pump & distributor-180' out, rusty float pins, valve adj.- some were set to 1/16", Thanks to ZTherapy for the kit and CD, When I finished with the carbs I was confident that they would work. My son and I went through the list and fixed everything. Compression- between 155 - 160. We crank it over, plugs out, to see if it is oiling the cam. Looks good. Install the plugs, say a quick prayer an…

Hey new here. I got a 1975 280z. Recently bought a aluminum radiator on CL. They posted that it fits 240z,260, 280 and even trucks but I notice that it's a bit small. I believe it's 18"x 20". Can I still be able to use it or not?

That is about the best way I can describe the scenery at this year's Targa California Rally. We did hit some rain, which made a bit more challenging drive but the roads and the views were spectacular. I believe there were 5 Z's overall out of 110 cars. This year I managed to avoid the mailboxes that plagued me last year. Still not sure why they needed to be placed on railroad ties. While 911's were clearly the predominant car, there was a good selection of nice older metal along the way. I realize that some of this scenery is probably routine for some of you, but for those of us that are stuck in the city, it sure was nice to get out and be in the rolling hill…

Its practically free! While saving up for what I want to eventually do to my car, I spend time in photoshop messing around with ideas I have. The bottom is an illustration of my car as it stands. It lets me play around with color ideas, suspension looks, wheels etc. Hopefully it will allow me to narrow down what I want to do before I start to spend coin. anyone else keep busy doing anything similar?
