Hi Everyone I got a little originally question. I have a built date 5/70 serial # 4445 car and was wondering if this was an early production item which was later changed? My gear shift knob has Datsun on it and there is a shift pattern plate on the console. The plate appears to be 43 years old but I just do not know. Has anyone else seen this? I had a z 40 years ago and for the life of me I can not remember what year I had, and of course I do not remember what the gear shift knob looked like. The curse of getting old???? tanks mike

I went out for the last Z drive of 2013. We're getting our first winter precipitation soon and the roads are likely to be salted. That means I won't be driving her again until Spring 2014. I'm officially calling it quits for the year: Anyone else doing the same thing? Take a pic and share in the sorrow...

Anyone know if I have a correct manifold for my 1/70 build ? One is marked N36 on the casting and has two bolts to presumably mount a heat riser tube and the other manifold is marked E30 and has no bolt holes for a heat riser. Thanks Brian

Hey all, after much soul searching and prevarication I have decided to have Whitehead Performance do a engine rebuild and repaint of my Series One Zed. Problem: who to contract to get it from Edmonton to North York. Quoted prices range from $999 to $ 1900! And all the companies I find have reviews from "they are great" to "these guys are scam artists":paranoid:! Anyone here have a company they would recommend? Thanks in advance for your help, will check back later to see what the Zed community has to say!

Is there different venting methods on some cars? On my car ( 71 ) the 1 foot or so hose that comes out the top of the fuel filler hose, goes to the expansion tank. Didn't i see pics. and talk about a tee that is on the 1 foot or so hose? Thank you.

Chased down a Z today, blue 73 with Wyoming plates, nice looking Z. I caught up with them at our local Cracker Barrel talked for a while (Doug and Sarah). They stopped by this evening to see my Z and do some Z talking.:classic: They currently have a 73 (hers) and 77 (his). It was fun to meet them and as all Z folks they were ready to visit and talk about their love for Z cars. Sarah autocross’s the 73. They both work at Yellow Stone National Park and gave us an invite to visit. If you know me you know how much I love hiking and camping out west, you know that I will take them up on the visit. It’s a great Z day. I will post some pictures of their 73 tomorrow.

Have a miss and occasional backfire through the carbs under about 2600 RPM. 73 240Z with 3-screw SU's and 6 year old euro distributor. Stock head and cam from C211. Runs strong mid-range and top end. Plugs look ok but I'm no expert at reading them. New needles and nozzles fixed top end miss and improved the idle. Not sure when it started since there other carb problems, too rich, then too lean. Thinking it's ignition. Feels like it's too lean but richening with the choke lever doesn't help. The chokes aren't sticking. New advance timing light on order - should be here next week. Will try retarding it a little but don't want to. Top end is good and no ping. Something el…
