Someone ripped my hood emblem off my Z. I believe the clips on the underside are still intact. I know there are a few on ebay for the tune of $40, but thought I might see if anyone has an extra laying around beforehand.

Has any found a easy replacement for the Hitachi A8937 air compressor? My was all working and then the compressor started leaking. All the thread I have read are saying rebuilding them is not worth the money.

The little Z won a sponsor award at today's "Cars in the Park". Came as a complete surprise! It's just a small plaque, but when you don't expect anything... Best "foreign" car went to a pristene, bright red DeTamaso Mangusta. Other cars in the "foreign class" were a DeTamaso Pantera, a highly customized Jag XK, an absolutely stunning XKE convertible, and a couple Ferrari's. I also won a nice raffle prize, a "Duracell DPP-600HD Powerpack 600 Jump Starter & Emergency Power Source". Not a bad day! Attached are a few pics: Me & my Z, my Z with my neighbor's 240Z and my buddies 71' Capri.

I know it's last minute, but for some reason I couldn't start a new post the last few days... This Saturday from 9 to 3 at Washington Park in Burlingame, CA is our local car show. My 72' 240Z and my neighbors' 72' 240Z, along with my buddy's "daily driver" 71' Capri will be on display . There typically are usually 200+ cars, including hot rods, muscle cars, sports cars, classics, antique, vintage military, etc. The mix is a bit different every year. The show is free to the public. It's organized by the Lyon's Club, and money from food & beverage sales goes to support local charities. If you don't have plans, come on out and buy a burger and beverage for charity! …

Well, I did it. I went out and purchased a Scion FR-S. I did it for all the same reasons I fell in love with 240Zs - it's simply fun to drive! It has a Subaru "boxer" power-plant for lower center of gravity that has a mesmerizing, hi-RPM, pitch. A rock solid close ratio 6-speed gear-box plumbed into a rear-wheel drive (very important to me). A no-nonsense cockpit that features butterfly style racing seats. A turning radius of a Segway AND (dare I say) a sculpted body that closer resembles a 240Z; way closer than a 350 or 370Z. It wont beat a MP3 or GTI in a quarter mile but I've seen them smoke them at autocross events - right out of the box too! I love the stiff, low-pro…

I wanted to give a shout out to Metal Rescue. I just took some suspension parts out of an overnight bath in this solution and was very pleased with the results. All the parts are rust free after the bath and clean up was a simple wash down in the tub. Gloves are not even required. It wasn't cheap but it's a lot cheaper than Dremel parts and my time. I'll be buying more for the rear suspension cleanup. http://www.metalrescue.com
