This outfit (nissanpartszone.com) seems to have a very broad inventory and some interesting pricing. Makes me wonder if they actually have all of the parts available that they list on their site. Anybody have any purchase experience with them?

Your mission, should you accept: You are standing in front of a JY right before it opens with tools including an electric or gas angle grinder with a cut off wheel. You are aware that there are several early Z's in the JY, 240s, 260s and 280s. What parts would you grab first (windshield?) because you need them now, they are no longer available or you might need them later either for trading or to give away? Do you grab a head instead of the whole engine because the block isn't subject to failure very often and the head is realtively easy to cart off? I had a similar decision process happen to me. This post will self destruct in 30 seconds. Remember that show mi…

Hello everyone, My mother has a 1972 240Z which she is the original owner. She is looking to sell it, but the price seems to vary so much we are not sure what to ask. Is this something that this forum can help me with? I can describe the car more with pictures, but want to make sure that this is the proper venue. Thanks for your help! Elaine

Don't you love the time when you order all the parts for your restoration and they finally show up? It's definitely my favourite part of a build and one I save for the time I have to block sand the car - just to get me excited and past the drudgery of sanding primer! Weeeeeeeeee!

I recently acquired an inventory of used emblems from various 260z and 280z model cars. I noticed that some of these emblems, such as the fender emblems, seem to have some form of resin or composite material that surrounds the "Z" portion of the emblem. Can anyone tell me whether there is some form of composite material and , or, a "sticker" that is used for those emblems? I acquired these with the intent of re-chroming and restoring them to original OEM spec, as it appears that these emblems are not available in new or restored condition anywhere. My concern is that, when the old plating is stripped....this resin or composite "stuff" that surrounds the "Z" might come off…

Hi all, When I replaced the filler hose on my 240Z (MFR 1/70) the new filler hose was about an inch longer than the old. Is that because the new hose was for a 280Z or later model where the filler hose is longer than the one for a 240Z? The new hose is kinked a bit which the pump nozzle runs into when I put gas in the car. Has anyone else run into this? I can fix the kinked filler hose by clamping two flat objects with zip ties onto the left and right sides of the filler hose as when viewed like I am putting gas in the car to squeeze it into an oblong shape but is there a more graceful solution? I don't want to drop the tank to cut an inch off of the filler hose. …

Hey all, I'm getting ready to start a 280 NA street build, and am wondering how to pick a compression ratio. Is it worth it to target, say 10:1 (head/piston swap), over the stock 9:1, all other things being equal? I know that going too high will cause problems, but aren't most high output na motors around 10.5:1? thanks Eric
