I was just curious if all of this came as part of the package for the 260z back in the 70's or what bc I opend up the compartment in the hatch back to find these in there and the diagram of how to use the jack taped to the lid of the compartment. If these are from the dealer, any value to them or reason for holding on to them, besides practicality of the jack or just to keep the "original" kind of idea?

I'm cleaning, painting, etc.,my heater/vent unit. The plastic tubes that have a flexible, slinky portion have broken apart. I'm not talking about the round vent tubes. I bought new tubes for those. I'm talking about the tubes that go from the blower to the unit and from the unit to the center vent. 2 separate parts. They are not round, they are triangular in shape. The center vent tube is triangular in shape and the other vent tube is square on one end and triangular on the other end. They are black plastic. Any solutions on repairing them? Haven't seen any to buy. Thank you very much. 71 240Z

Nice Street Mod Z - looks like some good work was done on this one. Sold for $10,400.00 - - very sad for the seller... Sold with No Reserve.. 1972 DATSUN 240Z Lot 49 | Barrett-Jackson Auction Company I'd buy it for that amount any day.. The seller would have been better off on EBay.. FWIW, Carl B.

I have heard that cars in that category are gaining more attention and that this might be a desirable certification without going to the expense of a full restoration. I was wondering whether any of you had gotten the certification, considered it but declined, or are currently considering it.

So this will be my first post on here. But my dad has a 77 280z, with a terrible ride, and were looking at replacing the suspension. After doing some searching, looking at eibach, tokico, etc etc. and after looking all over the internet, i stumbled across these awesome deal. Tokico - ILK Suspension Kit - Silver Mine Motors $650 for the Tokico ILK setup, seems really, really cheap, suspiciously cheap (hens why im here) My question is, has anyone had any experience with them, im going to call them, see if i can ease my concerns that way, but just looking for a little more reassurance. Thanks (sorry if this is in the wrong section) -Kyle

I have looked over different posts and different site to see if there was any dollar difference in a "stock" rebuilt car (matching numbers engine and tranny to chassis) to a Z with a swapped drivetrain. I checked out a few different Z sites and posts to see if there was any major difference and on the NADA site, it just asked for the year of the car and tells info about the value due to the vehicle's state that it was sitting. This is a question I ponder as I am getting my engine overhauled to put back into my matching numbers car. I have a swapped 260z in it now bc the original one blew a head gasket before I bought it and the owner assumed the piston froze (it didn't) …

I have a '78 280Z that had been stored for 7 yrs. We fixed all of the problems for cars that have not run for a long time. (fuel pump, leaking water/fuel lines, heater blockage, etc) We finally got it to run but it always stumbled when you first off. We replaced the computer, AFM, theromo-switch, cold start valve, etc. Trying find the culprit. What we discovered after close examination was a small hole in the AFM to TB boot. ((smaller then a pencil!) We grabbed a used one from the box of spares, installed it and Shazam! The car ran great. These old FI Z's simply will not run with ANY air leaks. FYI!:

Posted this on another Z forum. Basically what I did tonight. I thought I would share what I consider to be a unique twist on the rotisserie. Basically, I started with two engine stands, the four wheel kind. I decided I wanted to be able to pull the car around my garage any direction and wanted heavy duty casters. So I said to hell with it -- I have a welder, so why not? I wanted the option to be able to work on the vehicle's interior while on the rotisserie. As in actually climb inside to an extent without risking it tipping over. And so this idea was born. I would widen the front beam of each engine stand and probably add length to the main vertical engine supp…

Hi Gang: I'm going to have to buy an Enclosed Carhauler..... I really hate too... as I only need it once or twice a year... Nonetheless, anyone know of an 8.5x18 or 8.5x20 footer that is for sale very slightly used - and somewhere close to Florida? Looking to spend around $4K... as new one's are really inexpensive now... FWIW, Carl B.

I was apparently snoozing on 11/5 when this 240z came up on Craigslist. It is already sold (no surprise) with an asking price of $5500 posted in the Deep East TX section of CL, said to be located in Tyler TX. I literally smacked myself yesterday when I found it. Looked to be super clean in the pics but the large front bumper bracket looks like it was setup to be towed? Here is the original ad info. I have an Orange 1970 Datsun 240z, it has a 280z engine in it, the car has been restored, has new seats, new paint job, and the car looks and runs amazingly, I'm asking $5500 obo. (Seller contact info omitted)
