Gentle Readers: Has no one else noticed that the current supply of Pick-Up Coils has gotten very dicey of late? In the course of this summer (Jun. and Aug.) I have purchased two such coils (from RockAuto), only to find that both were hopelessly inoperative. Both were sourced from Standard Products, and while both exhibited proper resistances (the only (short of oscilloscope exam) test promoted by the FSM), both were useless in actual operation. Of course, since the opportunity to test either occurred outside of the narrow "warranty" period, I've had to eat the cost of both, leaving me highly skeptical of Standard Products in specific and Rock Auto in genera…

I have a 1978 280z. Does anyone know where I can get a mount for my power antenna? I read the thread below which appears to show the original mount. I can't find it on-line though. Anyone have an alternative solution to mount it?

I'm thinking of selling my '78 280z but don't really know what I should ask. With Z car values all over the place, I'm afraid to put a price on mine. Could you guys steer me in the right direction? I'm not trying to make this thread into a For Sale post, but if I could list details of my Z with pictures somewhere, I would appreciate your opinions.

Hi guys, I have a 78 280z. About a month ago the temp/oil gauges were drift back and forth together in unison from left to right. Now they do not work at all. What would have caused this? Before I start ripping out gauges I want a better understanding of what I am looking for. IMG_4406 (1).mp4

I know this has been covered many times. However, I thought I would post to help others. I repainted my tail light rear panels this weekend - 1978 280z. I am very happy with the outcome. I know this may not suffice for the purists. I did an awful sanding job and I will have to go back and re-do it at some point. Here is what I used SEM 39033 Charcoal Trim SEM 13023 Low Luster Clear Color Krylon K01010A07 Premium Metallic Spray

Replaced the 2015 Pathfinder before the CVT failed. Picked up this new Frontier truck that's a better match up with the Datsun.

Does anyone happen to have a spare plastic mount for the rear view mirror? I was cleaning mine and it snapped in half in my hand. I've looked on line but they are outrageously priced. I'm willing to pay for it if the price is reasonable and it's in decent shape. I have the metal piece and the screws so just the the plastic piece. Let me know, thanks.

RE: Distributor mechanical advance weights. While I cannot name the source (other than noting it was not the FSM), I am led to believe that the total mechanical advance is identified by a stamping on one of the weight pairs; i.e., "8.5" would denote a pair that provides 17deg. of total mechanical advance, etc. Can anyone confirm or correct? Source? I thank you for your attention.

Just ran across this rendering of a fantasy mid-engined Z and found it pretty cool! What say all the rest of you Z enthusiasts?
