Hey everyone, I am looking for a new shop to take my 77 280 to. The one I used to go to is no longer around. I usually do everything myself. But there is a rare occasion when I have someone else do the work for me. Especially when it comes to pulling the tranny and repairing it which it needs now. I will not take it to Nissan. I here Mike's Z Shop in Whittier might be the place. Anyone ever go there? Good or bad experience? Thanks for the help. Bob

The city has come to own a (going off the door jamb plate) 2/72 HLS30-69776 I know there is a z registry but, other than that is there no real way of finding history of these cars? If not can anyone on here give me insight to the history of the car, maybe it is a long lost love for someone on here. I'm looking to buy it and would just like to know a bit more if anyone can help because I will have to fight to achieve a lost title as the previous owner never filed for one. And i'd hate to see this beautiful blue beauty be scrapped

Just found Keith Martin's website http://collectorcarpricetracker.com/ and searched for Series I auctions. First thing I found was that many Series II cars were included in his Series I DB search. So I decided to do an indepth review of the 2012 auctions. There 20 completed auctions on Ebay for Series I cars (omitting 2 entries for sales that did not complete). The highest price paid was $28K for a RB26dett engined unit to $700 for barn find with engine out and a frozen rear wheel. Sales broke down as follows: 4 cars sold for over $10K 7 cars sold for $5K-$10K 6 cars sold for $2950 - 5K 3 hulks sold for $700 - $1025 Others on this forum have estimated less than 1,000 Seri…

My deadline is November 11. That is when my Z will hit the road on something of a personal dream. I have been wanting to attend a first class vintage rally for years, hell, decades. When I first bought my Z back in 2008, I had this in mind as the main reason for getting a classic car. Sure car shows are fun and the occasional cruise to work is a joy. But getting them out on the road seeing beautiful scenery is what I think these cars are made for. Enter the TEXAS 1000. http://vintagerallies.com/texas/ I first saw this rally 2 years ago and thought it was spectacular. The cars, the sights, the experience is just what I was thinking my Z was made for. It was pretty e…

I just recently found a 1978 280z in Ohio. It's in fairly good shape, very light rust. The interior is almost perfect. It has 55k miles. Very lucky find. I got it for $800. I'll post some photos of it later.

Out of plain curiosity, I was wondering how rare our Zs really are. From the numbers I've found, it looks like 148,115 240z's we're exported to the united states from 1970-1973, which are the years I've always been most interested in. Anyone have figures on just how many are left? Again, I'm particularly interested in the early years, even more so ones which have retained much of their originality.

Norfolk is right on the coast, but if this car really has low-rust, it might be a good purchase. For someone else with garage space. http://norfolk.craigslist.org/cto/3472416958.html

Good evening, I am the market to purchase a 280z. I owned a 78 back in the late 80's early 90's (High School & College), I had to sell it to finish college and now I am back in the hunt for another one... I have two current options to purchase one and need your feedback... First option, 77 with 95k miles, no frame rust, slight rust on passengar door, fuel door and in the hatch (I have not looked at the Z, this is the description from owner). Paint is fair and all stock. (5spd, Air, no leaks or smoke) apparently, the owner claims that the car was running well two weeks ago but went to start it this week and it is running rough...he believes it is the air flow meter. …

I bought this car on a whim last fall from 'the original owner.' Well, that's not exactly accurate. The original owner died unexpectedly in 2001 and her husband just wasn't into driving his wife's baby so he stored it in a pole barn. Ten years later, he had to sell his home, etc. and had to unload this car. I'd wanted an early Z car for many years, but could never justify it. So I bought this one, towed it home and with the help of a backyard mechanic got it in running condition.... sort of. The seller said the car had never been driven in winters and was mostly a weekend trip kind of car. Said that the 39,500 miles on the odometer was accurate, and NOT …
