A while ago someone started a thread about an old Japanese guy that was building an all aluminum Z. The thread and links never continued past a door the guy built. This morning I went to a local Cars and Coffee in Hunt Valley, MD and saw a hand made beauty like this. (not this, or these cars) The entire body is polished aluminum, no coating, just raw aluminum. It was friggin amazing and I wish I could have a Z like this, that is untill it comes to detail day. The owner of the car I saw today is also one of the owners of the company that builds the bodies (or so he said) a 427 SCJ Cobra replicar. Pictures do not do this thing justice. Anyway, has anyone seen the progr…

All you Fla. folks please give me a heads-up if you see a good deal on a Z, roadster, or 510. My good buddy Ross Parks (who I started the Atlantic Z Car club with) spends a month in Fla every spring. He wants to buy a Datsun to drive around then return home or ship to Canada. Thanks!

I'm interpreting his description of the brown car to imply that it's about a 6/10, and has a 'strong body.' Optomistic, to say the least. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/3380465651.html

Being the first Sunday of the month, I got myself out of bed early (thanks, in part, to the two four-legged alarm clocks asking for breakfast) to participate in the ritual Caffeine and Octane. Fortunately, with the time change, many other S30 owners were also able to wake up early, too. We had ten lined up (with one Z32 breaking it up right at the end). That's the most we've ever had gathered at one time for Caffeine & Octane. We were discussing turn signal switches, and I ended up testing a couple of switches for club members. It didn't hurt that I was taking apart a turn signal switch earlier this week to study its function and to clean it up. There were the usual …

Well. Last year my father purchased me a 73 240z as a big "thank you" gift for taking care of his business while he was out of commission. I made a post about it as soon as I got it, but never ended up doing anything with it sadly. Anyway, here is a little summary. I bought it with 43,000 miles on it. It ran when we went and checked it out. I periodically start her up, but as of recent, the battery won't hold a charge. It hasn't been in any accidents that I could track down. It had two owners and the last bit of it's life it was owned by an old man and sat in a big garage FILLED with Z's. He must have had 30+ 240's-280's all in different states of completion. Th…

My rear defroster in my 72 doesn't work. I understand this is a common problem with the lines breaking down in the glass over the years. I've checked mine, and have 12v at the connectors but no continuity through the circuit in the glass. Is there a way to repair this or am I looking at new glass? It has not been a problem for me, but I'm preparing to send the car to Norway where it gets a bit cold! Devin

I've found the clear plastic remains of a sticker 85mm wide by 30mm high stuck to the inside of the driver's rear quarter window. I though it was the OK sticker, but Carl Beck convinced me that was on the passenger side. If the remains of the sticker are nonOEM, I'll remove it. Otherwise I'll let it stay until I can get a Repro.

We just celebrated the annual Z Day in Western Australia (October 28th). Despite the threat of rain about 20 Zs and a handful of other classic Dattos turned out. Thanks to Peter H for the photos.

I like the mirrors that where installed or adapted on Z's in the UK, and also like the Talbot Bullet style. Here is my debate, my Z has set of real vintage Talbot's and I have a new set like the ones used on UK early Z's. these are the ones currently on my ride. The UK mirrors were intended for my former Z and I was on the hunt for those for a while but were never installed and she is gone. The Talbot's are small and not much real view visibility on them but I do like the look, the larger UK type offer better visibility and I think that they also fit the look of the car . I will like to get some feedback from you guys......:bulb:

Hi all, I came across these air horns that come pre-bracketed for Miatas, and I thought they might be good for our Z cars as well: http://www.thompson-automotive.com/Air_Horn.html They sound pretty good, based on the MP3. I was wondering whether any of y'all have used these and have any thoughts about them, either positive or negative. My only experience with air horns was this kit, which I put on a power boat: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FIAMM-66030-3-Trumpet-Car-Truck-Air-Horns-12-Volt-Compressor-Kit-LOUD-/290747241403?hash=item43b1e2d3bb&item=290747241403&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr The horns initially sounded good and were very loud. My on…
