First of all, I would like to say that if this is in the wrong section, will a mod please move it to the right one since I can't quite figure out what would be best. Secondly, I recently got my hands on a 75 280z that is only good as a parts car (both sides of the floor rusted through, frame rail rusting). I am trying to do my best to have this fund my 76 280z and possibly get more Z cars that are in too rough of shape to be worth restoring parted out to those that are just missing some parts. I was wondering what body parts would be worth trying to salvage for repair panels for other Zs out there, and also if anybody is interested in any parts to save me from the ebay r…

Somebody made some sorting mistakes to Mike's spreadsheet here: http://www.editgrid.com/user/mlwilliams/Z_Car_Registry It only appears to be on the 240Z tab. Unfortunately, we all need to go back in and correct our own info. I really like referring to this sheet when I see vehicles for sale to see if we have the history. I am sure others use it for other research too. I think we would all appreciate your efforts if you could verify/fix your cars info. Thanks, John

I put a new wiper fluid pump (AutoZone generic) on, the old pump was rusted and never worked, checked the lines and nozzles, all clear. I get fluid from only the drivers side nozzle. Any suggestions?

I am looking for a throttle rod for my S30 (part of the throttle linkage, I'm looking for the bit that goes through the firewall from the throttle pedal). The one on my 71 broke and seems to be beyond repair. Does anyone have one lying around that they could part with? In this pic, it's the piece with the boot on it.

In 1970 this Z was bought new in California by my father and it was love at first sight. The dealership only had 1 on the lot at the time and everyone interested had to get on a waiting list, we were #8 and had to wait 3 months. The picture with the long haired kid is me in 1974 after I got to drive it for the first time and I remember telling my dad that I wanted this car when he was ready to get rid of it. I didn't realize I would have to wait 42 years. The next picture is the beginning of it's trip to Georgia, had to be loaded on a rollback and taken 75 miles where it was transfered to an enclosed auto hauler. So 2 weeks later I get a call at 1:00 in the morning from t…

I got my z almost 6 months ago since then i have made afew changes. heres a bunch of pics of what i have done so far. i will add when i do more to it. this is when i first got the car. i got it from boston mass, it came from texas so has no rust. when i got it it had carb problems and would not go past 70 on flat high way and would not go past 30 up hills. I fixed all the dry rotted hoses first, then added the body parts and it needed new struts badly so i ended up lowering it in the process. at the same time i replaced the break booster and master cylinder. i also fitted a 240z grille in. i changed out some interior parts from a parts car. then i traded some parts for …

I entered my Z in another big local car show with 300+ cars. And like most TEXAS car shows, it had over 40 categories with which to enter However, for imports you have to settle one of two categories. Old import or New import. Then they are 38+ categories for AMerican cars. Every possible combination of American car has its own class. 1967-1968 Custom Camaro non race car. 1967-1968 camaro original restomod. ETC it goes on and on. I do not know how these judges quantify the ratings. I have finished 2nd in old import 3 times. I have lost all three times to a 60's VW beetle that has been built from the ground up as a show car. Now I knew once I arrived I was going …

Hello, Just to give a heads up. My brother that builds roads just called me. He can't swear to it, but he thinks a 390Z just whizzed past him near Jacksonville NC. Camp Lejuene is there. He said the car passed close enough he could have reached out and touched it. It was moving fairly fast through the construction zone; but he said as it passed he was fairly certain the numbers were 390, not 370. Anybody heard of one comming out yet? I just did some research, I couldn't find anything. Have a nice day:cool: OBX

So this weekend after making a 15 hour round trip to Potsdam, Ny - this 1976 Fairlady Z is home with me in NYC! I bought the car from a guy I met 6 years ago who bought it in 1985 while stationed in Japan. He brought the car back to the US in 1989 to upstate NY. It was on the road for another 2 1/2 yrs and has not been started since. Original L20 is in the car but had been stroked to a L26 and lightened flywheel. The factory 5 speed is there and factory AC. After all these years, I got a phone call stating that he might be ready to sell the car. 4 years prior I tried to buy this car and he couldn't bring himself to sell it. After several conversations it was time for me…
