As posted prior, I'm doing a cosmetic refresh of my neighbor lady's 1972 240Z (automatic). She is retired and the original owner. I still have a bit of work to do, but here's a few pics of where she is today. Plan to put my old slooted mags on the car, as her hubcaps are dented. Another 15 to 20 hours of work and she'll be done ready for the road!

First post! Sorry for the long post!!! I've been looking for a ls1 pre 1975 datsun (pre 75 due to California smog exempt) but I didn't have more than $10,000 to play with, so no luck with that. I posted a WTB ad on craigslist and someone with a v8 350 / turbo 400 swap emailed me. The car sat for most of its life in a shop. The car has no rust at all. 30k miles on body. It was originally yellow but repainted light blue in 1973-1975. The paint still shines but has some chips that shows the old yellow paint underneath. The interior is still in great shape with roll bar and everything. The motor, transmission, and rear end has 5k miles since the swap. I'm sure it has after…

http://fredericksburg.craigslist.org/cto/3353478218.html Pcv valve clogged up and over-pressure forced oil to find path of least resistance through gaskets. Can't afford rebuild right now and don't want car to sit and rot. This car is in damn fine shape for the next person to keep it good. Manual trans, original engine, interior almost perfect (small wear in seat where my duty weapon sits) If interested email from CL add and mention this post. I will give you my phone number to talk.... Unless i can find an engine rebuilder willing to work for charity I gotta sell her.

I got the afternoon off so headed out to look for thin foam and vinyl to restore the flaps in the heater box. I went to a auto upholstery shop and got a cold look until I mentioned the 1970 240z that I am working on, the guy changed his tune mid sentence and headed upstairs to grab some material, came back down gave me exactly what I was looking for no charge. Actually he did have a price, he asked me to come by after the car was finished to show him the final restoration, " No problem sir, I'll be happy to ".

How about these blasts from the not to distant past.. This is one of my favorites.. an original 1974 Datsun car brochure. Has a nice two page spread of the 74 260Z It is amazing what my previous owner kept, but looking through the history of a car is just so much fun. Also the level of support for the cars that Datsun provided was amazing. I mean full on race parts from the dealer. The closest thing I can compare it to is Ford Racing parts department. Just amazing.

I have a 1975 280Z that I am in the process of restoring. I bought it from a guy who was planning to replace the l28 with a v8. The body is not too bad but the motor and transmission were out and according to him it was not running when he bought it. I've stripped this car and am in the process of repairing some relatively minor rust areas and getting ready for paint. I also have a 1978 Z with a salvage title. The body is rusted very badly but the motor runs and has good compression. It is in pretty good mechanical condition and I know that it will run. There's a problem with the fuel system retaining pressure but I don't think that is a big problem. My question is …

Today a total stranger asked to take a pic of my Z, so I thought it might be time to share with the members. Its a 75 280Z which I painted (first paint job) in my "garage booth." I replaced or refurbed almost everything form the ground up, learned to weld new floor pans and other areas (still not a good welder but learning). There are stil some body panels I'm not happy with and need to sand and buff some more, the stripes need work. I've still got a couple of electrical gremlins to chase away and still looking to get her perfectly tuned, but she runs very well and is great in the twisty's. Thanks to many many members of the forum for all their help in getting me thru thi…

I spotted a faded lime green 240z earlier this evening and spoke with a friend of the seller. It's a '72 California car, 4spd, black interior. The guy showed me the floors and they looked incredible, body was rust free, had a good rear bumper but had some after market fiberglass front bumper. Has dual Webers and he said it ran when they put fuel in the carbs but they believe the fuel pump is out. It needs a full interior job but the door panels appeared to be useable minus holes for small speakers at the bottom and some wiring attention as there were a lot of unplugged connectors hanging down on the passenger side. I did not have my camera with me and it got dark quickly.…

Hello, I am new to this site, and yes, Ive searched, but I havent found the answer I was looking for. Has anyone installed an a/c from a 1975 to their 240z? Direct fit, wiring trouble etc? Also, would a rack and pinion and power steering pump from a 280zx fit the 1973 240z, I have the L28 engine.. will I be able to mount the PS pump on the l28?
