Don't get me wrong, I still love her. I'm just not in love with her anymore. And there's a new car (that could be) in my life. I really enjoyed the Z when she was my daily driver. Honestly she's not the best DD, but overall it was a great few years. Now however, she sits in the garage too much. I rarely take her out. I enjoy it when I do, but I really need an exciting DD back in my life (I'm currently driving a 15yo Exploder) and selling the Z would do that for me. Next month will be 5 years of ownership, but I may not make it much past that. *For those wondering, the new car is the Subaru BRZ. Which is very much a modern day Z car.

I have searched his Jay Leno's Garage site and Googled it many times but come up empty handed. I know he did a video of his Datsun 510 a few years ago but I cannot even find that now. If anyone knows about his Z's I would love to hear about them.

What I've Learned: Sam Cabiglio Mechanic, 66, Monterey, California Cabiglio, who has been rebuilding Porsches and street-racing cars since the 1960s, manages Jerry Seinfeld's vast collection of classic Porsches. Italian cars have always been beautifully designed, beautifully sculpted, wonderful to drive, emotional — but not always reliable. It's kind of like how a really, really attractive female may be a delight, but she may also be a little bit of a pain. You could add maybe 20 percent more power to a VW, but I needed way more power. So to the horror of my father, I removed the engine from my brand-new '64 Beetle and installed one from a Porsche 356. It was not a 100 …

Does anyone know where I can obtain a set of vintage Oregon license plates? I'm looking to get two of them for the correct year my car was built (1971).

I was looking around for some suspension upgrades for my '73 240z, and I came across Techno Toy Tuning. I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about them, if they are good quality, reliable, the works.. Tell me what you guys think! Originally, I was looking at Arizona Z Car's Ultimate "Track-Pak." Now I know that the Track-Pak is more complete, but its really expensive. Although I would have barely enough for the kit, I was thinking that if I got the Techno Toy Tuning set up, I could save a few bucks for some other things. What are your guys' thoughts? Should I get the suspension upgrades form Techno, and get some cheaper rotors and brakes? Or should I just dive into t…

Hey everyone, just finishing up odds and ends on my new Z, and the pump for the windshield washer fluid is dead. The bottle is fine, so is the rubber (I checked the circuit already, and it's fine, too). Does anyone have one lying around that you would be interested in selling? My local auto shops only have generic ones, and the closest I found is a generic bottle, including the tank, at Black Dragon. I'd prefer to keep the original tank if possible...and thought maybe I'd get luck if I posted something here. If you have one, you can reply or simply PM me. Thanks in advance! :-D

This past Friday, I was cut-off by another driver and rear-ended a mini-van. No serious human injuries, but my beloved 71 240 was trashed. I hit the right rear of the van with my left front. Since it has been 21 yrs. since it's restoration, and I now have some medical problems that would limit my ability to do the work on the car that I used to; I am posting pics of the damage and some details that are not apparent in the photos; with the question; can this car be restored, or should I total it and try to sell off the remaining good parts? The left frame rail is mangled, the radiator support as well. The left front inner fender is trash, as well as the left door.

Good morning, everyone! For anyone who remembers, back in March I purchased a 1972 Datsun 240Z, and it was destroyed in a horrific shipping accident (it hadn't been strapped down) 10 miles from where it had lived for 37 years. I was devastated--and so was the seller, whom I met here. So, I took the last few months and did some more searching, salvaged what parts I could from the '72, and finally, just this week, found a new dream! It's a 1971 Datsun 240Z, Series I. It had been a project car of the owner for 13 years, during which time he replaced, upgraded, painted, cleaned, and perfected it. I've even got all the receipts! When I discovered it on our local Z-car FB pag…

200 miles of 500 so far. There's a tiger in my tank I just have to figure on how to get him out. Every 50 or so miles I'm gaining 400 rpm's. It's loosening up quick. Temp is to the left of the "F" finally. 3k rpm = 80mph with stock tires and wheels. Couldn't have done it without you guys. Thank You.

I'm having some trouble locating the magazines that did a test-drive of the 1978 280Z. I know the 280Z came out in 1975, but I'm interested in test-drives of the model I have. I think Road & Track did one, but which others? thxZ
