In the mid to late 90's I refreshed my 2/71 240. It turned out pretty good and really haven't done much with it since. I was pretty active with the original List-serv we had and when we swapped to the forum I obviously lost some interest. As my last two posts were in 2004 and 2009! I hope Carl and some of the older guys are still around. I have spent the last decade raising kids, and working. I got away from tinkering with cars. Last fall I got the bug again and ordered a factory five cobra kit car. I spent the winter building it. Kids really enjoyed it. Where is all this going? Well, my 15 year old and I were messing around Saturday and he asked if the Z still ran. We …

Lately, I've been burning DVD's from old VHS tapes my family has collected and recorded over the past 30 some-odd years. I had a few tapes that had no indication what was on them. Imagine my surprise when one of them held a Hemmings Motor News TV show that featured the 240 to 280 Z. The segment is only about 7 minutes long, but has some memorable footage in it. Old commercials, including the John Morton 240-Z, and footage from an early Motorsport Auto show. The disc is burned; and I may even keep the tape.

Well it is almost fully sanded and skim coated. I ran all of the gas tank evap lines and am abouut to install the heater core and rest of the HVAC stuff today. Motor and everything under the hood are completly together minus the washer bottle. Not sure if I will put the dash in before paint and windshield as I do not want to damage my now mint dash. It has been a lot longer road than I invisioned but I am very happy with how it is coming along. I had to test fit the new wheels and rubber and have to say I am in love with the Tokico setup and 225-50-15's. It looks alot wider and lower to the ground now rather than floating on big baloon tires.

First I want to say thank you to everyone here on the boards for all of the help, support, information, and guidance you have given me over the past 5 months. It is the passion and a true sense of community that keeps these great cars running. What started off as a addressing a leaking exhaust manifold gasket and vent hose replacement snow-balled in to one of the more severe cases of "while I am at it" syndrome that I have experienced in quite some time. Below is basically a list of what I ran in to and what I did to resolve it. Leaking exhaust manifold gasket - pulled carbs, intake, and ex. manifold off. Ordered a new MSA 6-1 ceramic coated header and stud kit Oil pan…

I see they are a moderator on the forums but the website does not appear to exist. Is the website under construction? If so when can we expect to see it launch? What kind of information will be on it? I would love to know more about it.

Hi all. Please forgive me for posting this here and not in the classifieds. My friend owns Alvins Auto Recyclers in Oakland. He recently took this car in. I know absolutely nothing about it, nor have any interest in it. I told him not to part it out yet until I could post here. If you are interest call Flash at 510) 658-3101.

A friend sent me this link. Not my taste in Z's but would certainly park it in my driveway (mostly because there isn't a road in Idaho I cold drive it on) http://www.speedhunters.com/2012/08/liberty-walk-shakotan-s30/

Taking these things apart are a whole lots easier than putting them back together. Still it's fun.
