Does anyone know if Nissan Canada use a window sticker like these on the 69-70 cars? Maybe even earlier on a 510. From what I read it was a US law to have them, but not sure about in Canada. @zKars @grannyknot @Namerow @CanTechZ

Found a pair of NOS red seat cushions in my stash that I don't need anymore. I think my dad bought these in the early '90s and they've just stayed with the car ever since. What do you guys think is a fair price?

So this is a follow-on to this post, but i didn't want to clutter up my resto thread with too much troubleshooting, and I thought a standalone thread might be more helpful for others battling the same issue. Long story short, my '72 240Z starts and runs fine initially, but dies after for 10-15 minutes, and won't start again for minutes at a time. It's gotten me temporarily stranded, fortunately not too far away (yet). Fuel system: Tank cleaned out Fuel lines blown out New primary filter, and secondary inline filter installed near tank Fuel pump recently rebuilt Carbs rebuilt by ZTherapy about 12 years ago, float bowls properly we…

Brigham City, Utah, Sept. 7, 2024 - 1,070 cars. I found I had relatives/in-laws with Z's, we were the only Z's except for a 370Z that was with the tuner cars. The ZX is an original turbo car and the 280Z has a LS under the hood. Different generations, we had a blast and I'm old enough to be their grampa. Funny, one kid about 12-13 walks by and says "look, Jaguars".

Onto the next thing… Yes, I know I’ve got several other threads that aren’t resolved yet, but I need to solve this issue before resolving those issues🤦🏼♂️ First of all, thanks to everyone whose been so helpful to me in sorting out all these gremlins in my Z. I drove it for the first time today after slowly building it over the past year. Seemed to run well, but not quite all sorted out yet… 1972 240z, L28 with SUs. My tach isn’t working right. I have done the 280zx dizzy upgrade, and wired it according to this diagram… I do not know much about the coil, but I suspect it’s from a 280Z because the engine was L28 swapped at some point. Car sta…

I recently received z therapy carbs. I installed them with very little fanfare. I was able to get the engine started pretty easily but I didn't fine tune the balance or mixture. Then I replaced the choke cable for an unrelated reason. Now that I am trying to adjust the carbs, I can't get it to run very well. The valves have been adjusted and the timing was set. It has new plugs and wires. The carbs were topped with oil and the vent caps were removed from the float bowls. To adjust the carbs, I warmed the engine and was able to balance them, but the choke linkage needs to be slightly on in order to keep the engine running. I started adjustment with the mixtu…

Welp, I'm currently trying to tune my engine, as some of you know from my other recent thread, but now I've got another issue that came up. That "for sale" sign is looking awfully tempting!!! Was starting and tuning my car just two days ago, and the ignition switch was working fine (It's an aftermarket unit from Zcar depot BTW). Went to start the car today to do more tuning, no crank. I hear the typical sound of a relay turning on in the passenger footwell, but no starter solenoid action. No 12V power at the starter solenoid when the key is in the START position. Used a remote starter trigger directly on the starter solenoid and she turned over and sta…

I have the original AC compressor and it looks like in a decent shape. Is there a reliable place where these can be rebuilt? I am planning to grab some R12 from a guy locally and use that. or do u guys recommend putting R132? also i would need condensor and receiver drier. Where to get those? Also is it a DIY job to remove the compressor etc. and put it back? Would really appreciate any guidance. My heater works fine. The 2nd owner had the AC switch wire near heater control pulled off to keep the compressor disenageged.

Fired up my Z build for the first time today. I’m trying to get my timing set right. I have a 280zx dizzy, D6K80-03. E12-80 module. I rebuilt it and it functions properly, including the vacuum advance. See attached chart. According to the attached chart, this dizzy will put my engine in the red “danger zone” with a total advance of 55. Didn’t know this when I bought it 🤦🏼♂️ Help me understand how I can make this dizzy safe for my engine. Option 1: Do I run it without vacuum advance? Set timing at idle to 8. Mechanical advance adds 17 for a total of 35. That said, I’ve heard not running vacuum advance yields poor performance for anything other than e…

Anyone know how to decipher the date codes on a 240Z caliper. Have seen lots of numbers on both sides but not sure what they mean.

Okay, I know I'm getting old, but I usually still do a decent job of putting parts on the right storage shelf of the different make cars I work on. Found this on the Z shelf, which I took apart 3+ years ago, and I'm not sure if it goes on the Z or not. Looks like an interior part or something. If so, please give me a hint so I can return it to it's original location. If not, never mind.... Thanks! Ken
