The kyb boot is different then stock. I believe the original snapped to the top spring support. The kyb sits in the top support but would fall, the bottom of the boot is too loose.

Today finally steam cleaned the under carriage and glad to see all good under coating, no rust and most of the oil and buildup was around trans and diff. Got it nice and clean. Left the engine alone! It runs flawless idles great and don’t want to take any chance. Looking at this picture: https://zcardepot.com/collections/fuel-sending-units/products/fuel-tank-sending-unit-oem-240z-260z-70-74 Is this sending unit right side up? I took mine out when I removed the tank for cleaning/coating and cannot remember which way the unit goes. I need to learn to take more pictures when I take things apart. Jeff

Yea I know sounds like a dumb idea, but hear me out. Just installed a new OE nissan head gasket on to what I think is a good head and block, well prepped, torqued pre fsm etc... Still getting a exhaust gas leak in the radiator per the blue chem test. I was going to try another head gasket (yea I know the definition of crazy) to see if that stops it. But since the engine is on the test stand and very easy to work on AND I want to try it out, I am going to remove the head, and try some copper spray on the just installed and tested gasket. If nothing else I can add another L to the record book. After that L is recorded I will try a different make of HG. Again…

My tranny crossmember bushings were shot, so I pressed them out and read tons of posts on the OEM bushings being NLA. I have a couple of different x members from various years, so I figured I could get something to work. I chose to keep my original x member and make a set of poly bushings work. I ordered the black energy suspension bushings from one of the vendors. They are too big and too long for my style x member. I took them over to my brothers house and we put them on a lathe and turned them down to the right diameter and then shortened to metal sleeve and bushings to fit....Tight as a tick! One problem solved.....ten thousand more to go.

What with moog balljoints, no zerk fittings. I guess they want you to buy them all the time.

I started putting my front bumper back on the car and I noticed I have a problem with a broken bolt. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I really do not want to have to buy a replacement.
