Hi all, I pulled the gas tank on my 240 today to replace a leaky fuel vapor hose on top of the tank though I could not get the clamp screw on the filler hose on the tank to turn without springing back to the original position as I tried to turn it with vise grips. Also I could not remove the three screws holding the filler tube lower flange on with the tank in the way. This meant the filler tube was holding the tank to the car since this early 1970 model has the lower rubber flange molded to the filler tube. In direct violation of Murphy's law as I pulled on the tank it fell off of the filler tube where the tank clamp was solving the problem. I notice the early fil…

Hi everyone, My 72 at some point had the rear quarters replaced, and the build tag left off. I'm wondering what the build date might be. The Z was sold from Gilmore Cadillac, Pontiac. in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Sept. 27, 1972. Serial #87265, engine#L24-109944 If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be grateful. Also can I get a new Tag? Thanks, John

Did anyone snag this before I did? It sold fast. Not a 2+2 guy but this thing looked pretty clean. Looks like it was good deal. http://moore91024.com/datsun/datsun.html

...Or at least my EFI does. Is there anyone that lives near me (Ventura CA) that is knowledgeable when it comes to the EFI systems and is willing to help me trouble shoot mine? I need to talk to someone that has had issues getting their 280Z to pass smog and what they did to fix it. I know this is a wide open topic but I also know there are people out there that have also had problems smogging their 280 in CA and I need to talk to you. It doesn't matter how you failed smog, I want to talk to you about your experience. Thanks in advance.

Is there anyone or place with in 50 miles of Sacramento CA. that can take my 72 R180 diff and replace the bearings and seals if I supply them. I just had one done by a complete armature and now the diff sounds like a chain drive. Thanks! Polecat

Hi, I bought some ZTherapy carbs and they're on their way. I opted to not get the adapters and use my old air cleaner housing - I want to get the one that matches the carbs. I looked on ebay - nothing today. I found one in datsun classified and emailed the lister, but it was listed in February, so I doubt he still has it. Anyone out there got a spare I can buy? Thanks!

Took the kids to this on Saturday morning: http://www.ncrscca.com/events/2012/05/double-sarrcdouble-marrs-club-race $10 admission. Concessions were overpriced, obviously, but the entry price / entertainment cost is unbeatable. Kids got bored with the cars and started playing with the dirt about half an hour in, but they had a lot of room to run around in (anyone who's been to VIR knows what I mean). Run group lining up on the false grid. #55 is the spitting image of my old red RX-7 (minus the Panasports, race gear, etc). Made me miss it quite a bit. Rockin' the Volvo in ITB. "Wings 'n things" run group. Not sure what class this Z was in (E-prepared?). …
