I wonder how many ZZZAP 280Z cars were made? A friend of mine is looking to get one......... Is is basically a 280Z? except for the louver, paint code 411 with decals? If you, if the decals are gone, it is not worth it? Where can I find a very clean car for sale? Any expert?

Hey All...saw this listing on Ebay (I regularly search for "240Z Original") and thought it was pretty cool. I'm one of those "purist idiots" who wants to keep everything on my 240 original, and thought there might be a couple of others on here with a similar mindset. My '72 still has its original skinny steel wheels and they appear to have been painted a semi-dull black from the factory. The wheel shown was wiped down with WD-40, so it appears shinier than it should. Best regards to all...Alex http://www.ebay.com/itm/240z-NEW-OEM-wheels-original-boxes-SUPER-RARE-/221013241389?hash=item33756a6e2d&item=221013241389&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mt…

Went to look at a 77 280Z last night for my great nephew. He really wants a Z, but has a very limited budget. Car had lots of rust, but nothing unexpected at the very low price. Engine needed a tune-up, but otherwise looked & sounded fine. Needed new brakes or a brake re-build, but again, nothing we couldn't fix over the weekend. Interior needed a lot of work, but was usable. "Deal Killer" was the tranny sounded like it was full of loose gravel. If the noise had only been in 1st & third, I would have figured it was just the idler gear, but it made same noise in 2nd & 3rd... He's stil looking…

No rust, runs perfectly for a car this old. The catch is that the suspension has started to go bad, would that be much of an issue aside from ride harshness?

... or so says the sponsored link at the top of the S30 Forum page! So this electronic snake oil product supposedly plugs into the air intake sensor via two wires. From that location, it supposedly reprograms the 280Z's (analog) ECU to unleash its hidden tiger, boosting horsepower by almost 50%. Whoa, baby! I have to question whether it's appropriate for this forum to post up sponsored links that make claims that absolutely cannot be true. Ignoring all other aspects of their dubious claims, there is no way to program or reprogram an analog ECU. Trust me, I know. I spent many a year designing and building linear circuits such as those controlling our engines. Th…

Just got my car back from the exhaust shop and having not driven it more than 2 blocks and never out of 2nd, found a new issue. When trying to shift into 5th all kinds of grinding and won't go in when in motion. It will go into 5th when sitting but as soon as the clutch is released pops out. All other gears shift fine, including reverse but are a little stiff. The local tranny shop wants $1000 to rebuild it! Tranny is from a 79 ZX. Thanks for any input.

I saw a 240 for sale on e-bay via the BaT (Bring a Trailer) web site for $14500 in Spokane, the interesting thing are the comments posted predicting 30K in a few years for a 240.

Has anyone done any mods to the air conditioner vent? I am considering removing about half of the diverters that direct the air flow to the side vents so I can get more air through the center vents. I went through the system several years ago and replaced the rotting foam seals with new foam and that greatly improved the air flow. Still the hole from the diverter to allow air to the middle vents is pretty small if you ask me. Are there any red flags on this or can I proceed knowing I can always fashion them back at a later time if desired? Thanks, Chris
