My wife's uncle has a few Zs that he is looking to sell. One that I'm particularly interested in is an '85 280Z. He parked it in the garage after the last time he drove it, so the body looks immaculate, the paint is flawless, the interior isn't rotted too bad, and things overall look awesome! The problem is that it's been sitting for 10 years and being the young'n that I am, I've never worked on a carburated car (though I have worked on carburated lawn mowers) . I'm assuming that the fuel system will be pretty well toasted all the way from the tank to the carbs, but what else would likely have gone bad from sitting? I guess my question is, what kind of a project would I …

A while back a member posted up a link in a thread to a nice smaller company that made pedal kits for our cars(with the long gas and wide brake and clutch) they also had nice rubber nubs and weren't all ugly and flashy like other pedal sets you see online and in parts stores. I know pedal kits and non functional but now that my build is finishing up I want to buy something I want and don't need...thanks for any help in advance

I watched this Youtube video of this guy driving his GT Cobra on the track when there is a mechanical failure of some kind at 130 MPH (I am thinking Tie-Rod/Control Arm). The video is from a dash camera - watch the seat belts and roll bar save his hide. Now be careful out there my ZedBretheren.

Hi Guys, New to the forums and looking to pick up my first S30 this weekend, but need help valuing it. - 73' all original blue metallic exterior, beige interior. Car has 31k original documented miles on it. Basically sat in storage untouched for 25 years or so, until purchased by current owner who planned to restore it. Only rust on the car is a small spot on the drivers side firewall, the rest of the car is rust free. - Not currently running. Current Owner (2nd owner) said he rebuilt the carbs but are not sync'd and although it starts up and idles fine its not driveable. All of my past project cars have been fuel injected so i am in the dark when it comes to carbeurato…

I wasn't sure where to put this so I thought it would get plenty of traffic here. Pretty much as the title states. I continue to read threads about members efforts to restore their 40 year old fuel tanks and or track down a used fuel tank. I have looked around at all the vendors and no one seems to offer new fuel tanks for our cars. Seeing that the fuel tank is not only a key piece to the operation of a car but also the safety of it I believe a stronger focus is needed here. If a new properly fitting and correct looking tanks were available, how much would you pay for one? Gas tanks for all kinds of American muscle cars are currently reproduced and offered at reason…

Ok, so yesterday i spent all day sloshing around chemicals in my rusty tank, I made sure to follow the instructions as good as I possibly could. The only thing is that i could not drain all of the excess sealer out because there is a dent where my drain plug is and the inlet hole won't let you drain everything. Today I looked into the tank and saw that there were a number of places where the sealer is not sticking  . So what do I do now? 1. Look for another tank and go through all this again??? 2. Do a fuel cell which will stick out from the bottom and will make me cut out my spare tire well??? Is there a way to remove/dissolve POR15, I was under the impression t…
