Thanks Steve, Pam and Bruce! They look great! Clean as a whistle. They even retrofitted a knurled mixture adjust knob in place of the notched disc, at my request, after initially denying the request (understandably) saying they'd prefer to keep cores together. Big ups! Hoping the new throttle shafts perform better than the old (previously ZTherapy reman'ed) shafts. I have quite a list before I installed them and fire it up, so it'll be a while before we see them "in action." And I promise I won't touch the float height, no matter how sorely I am tempted.

I have several screw holes in the inner fender wells of my 240z's engine compartment. A couple of them are probably related to a long-departed air conditioning unit. As for the others, they seem to be the product of some unknown activity by previous owners. In a perfect world, I would have them all welded shut. As for now, however, I wonder if any of you have found a source for plastic or rubber studs (for lack of a better term) that could be used to securely fill the holes. All help is appreciated!

Need to fix or replace the rear hatch on my 73. Has anyone ever bought a fiberglass replacement from Z Force Productions and if so, how was the fit and were there any install problems? The price makes it seem too good to be true. http://www.zforceproductions.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=70

It's not on ebay... And I imagine it will start a discussion... But if it's still inappropriate for this sub-forum, I apologize. Very sweet car. But nearly seventy large? Wow. http://classiccars.com/listing-161938/1978-datsun-280z-for-sale-in-salinas-california-93906.html

Saw this and have no connection to the owner. One family owned. A few mods. Maybe worth investigation. http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/2880407711.html Bonzi Lon

I have come across two 240z cars. One is 1971 white with 71 miles on it, not 71k just 71. And a 1972 240z with the green rally package with only 138 miles. Both belonged to a dealer who parked them in a garage packed with NOS parts. He has since passed away and I am selling the estate. Any help on value would be appreciated. I have pictures if that helps

I bought another 73 a few weeks ago and got it running. I drove it yesterday about 150 miles. In addition to being the first time in my entire life i've ever ran out of gas I got a good feel for my tune and I really feel i'm starving for fuel. Is there a difinitive way to tell its starving? The fuel filters get dirty pretty quickly. I attributed this to sitting for a year but maybe not. I've replaced plugs, wires, installed a pertronix ignition with flamethrower coil, I bought a uni-sync and have the carbs pretty close from what I feel, has a new mechanical fuel pump. It doesn't matter how rich or lean I go the car runs exactly the same. It runs great at idle and re…

Hey everyone, Does anyone need a 1972 Datsun 240Z Parts car? I bought this car in Denver Colorado and while it was being shipped to MN it "fell off the transport" and was badly damaged. I'm still in MN, so the car will likely be scrapped for salvage...which just breaks my heart. The car (when it was whole) is my avatar...the car after the accident is attached. I will need to move on this in a number of HOURS--so call me now if you can use it. 218-838-4488 and you are in Denver. I HATE the idea of it being crushed for steel. P.S. If anyone ships their car, know that the insurance company covers it as "cargo" only...and will not pay its actual value according to NADA. I…

Need your input on a 240z. Built in June of 1970. (2) owners with service log book. Current owner has the car since 1978. I have sent a trusted restoration person to look at the car. Below is his report: • Car has been stored in temperature-controlled environment. • 146,000 miles • Straight body – no accident. • No rust. • Had new rear quarter replaced at the same time of 2nd paint – 1984. • Current body condition – excellent except driver door has big dent due to moving the car to current storage. • Current paint is black. Original color is yellow. • Good Interior – seats need to be reupholstered & minor cracks on dash. • Rubbers around t…
