Hey everyone! I purchased my first Z (a 1972 240) last week and am having some issues with shipping. I have a few days vacation coming up and if they still can't find a driver I'm thinking of going out to pick it up and drive it home. BUT, it's in Denver...at 5200 feet above sea level, and has been jetted and tuned for that altitude. I'd be driving it to MN (which is at 1400 feet above sea level). The seller mentioned early on that it would probably need to be re-tuned and re-jetted once it gets here as it's a very rich set-up...but...if I drive it here, will I hurt anything? I'm worried about burning up parts on the newly overhauled engine! Any thoughts or suggestions wo…

I understand that this will be a fairly biased question for this forum but I would love to hear the discussion. With the current Toyota/Subaru/Scion FT-86 or whatever name they pick coming out and the possibility of Nissan reviving the Datsun brand and coming out with a new version of our beloved fairlady, what car would you pick? Since this is a hypothetical situation what would the new Datsun have to be to win you over? That 86 looks great and could use some good competition.

Okay, a muffler did what?...it helped me make my decision about the path for my 240Z. I have a very original '72 with 92k miles, beat-up 2nd paint job, horrible seats, badly cracked dash, totally shot suspension, skinny 5" steel wheels with grandpa looking hubcaps, and leaky stock pipes with a cherry bomb muffler. The good points...a no rust Calif. body, matching number engine and completely original engine compartment (even the coil, braided hoses, smog pump, and battery cables are original), and it seems to draw a lot of favorable comments due to its virgin condition. But looking at the Zs on Youtube begins to infect one's mind with the rush from extreme accelleration..…

Anyone know where I can get the metal brackets to hold my 22mm front sway bar bushings to the frame? The original bracket is to small for the energy suspension bushings(only 22mm bushings I could find). Thanks. Brian

So I have my '77 5spd 280z up for sale. It truly runs great, super smooth, plenty of power, handles well, and stops confidently. Its biggest drawback is rust. It has some on the rockers as seen in the pics in my ad, the passenger side floor pan has a section that is rusted through, and the battery tray is a 6 on a scale of 1-10. The frame rails are in excellent shape as well as the hatch area. I am asking $3200 but its negotiable. I like the car but really want a 240z. My question is, what do you guys think is a reasonable number on it but not giving it away? I have a tentative offer of $2800 if the guy sells his other car. That's about as low as I want to go on …

hello everybody, i am in the process of rebuilding my fathers 72 240z and have a couple questions. I want to replace the suspension and i am wondering if getting new spring coils are necessary. i have no idea when they have been replace but it looks like after market cartridges have been installed. For the springs I'm just going to assume they are 40 years old and was wondering if i could get some opinion on the subject. for the haft shaft the rubber boot had some reasonably sized holes in it so i cut it off. i unclamped the snap ring and thought the shaft would just slide out of the sleeve but it does not. i have been staring at it for a while and don't know what to do. …

I'm replacing the dual weber down draft set-up with some stock SU's in my '63 Healey with an L28 / 5 speed. I just received this box in the mail with most of the parts I need, and servicable SU's. Here is a picture of the car and a picture of the manifold/carbs. I have a lot of cleaning to do, before they find their way onto the car, but I would appreciate the feedback of the function of each opening and what is suppose to go there.

saved it from a ricers death. came with the bumpers too. in perfect shape. just need rubbers. ignore the wheels. i was just going to fix it up a bit and sell it. but its so nice, i literally lost sleep over it last night. the owners looks almost new. all the vent work is intact inside the hatch. i love it. anyway, just sharing.
