I bought this fiberglass body kit off of Ebay with plans of installing it on my 1972 240z. I'm would like to know if someone can identify the builder and it they have any pictures on a car. Through my research it looks very close to a Greenwood Corvette IMSA widebody used from 1976-1980. This kit looks wild and if you look at the pictures please be aware that the panels are being held on by tape and can't be mounted correctly without removing the fender and cutting the rear quarter and bonding them to the car. I just put them on so myself and others can get a general idea on the look. Thanks in advance, tim http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/gallery/image/25339-dsc…

Drove the 240Z from the SF bay area to Santa Barbra, then to Camarillo, San Luis Obsibo, Morro Bay and Home. Picked-up my buddy in the east bay and dropped him off again. Drove about 960 miles total, and the Z got 22 to 25 MPH, depending on the leg of the trip. Purpose of the trip was for my buddy to go for a ride in a WWII P-51 Mustang, but the fog never lifted. Guess we will have to do the trip again this coming Spring! The car ran great, but I did find that my fan clutch needs to be rebuilt, as the car ran a bit too warm in extended stop-n-go traffic. Had an opportunity to open her up on an empty, straight stretch coming back up the valley, and the Rebello engi…

I had a idea today. Which which would you rather have and why, a Aluminum Chin Spoiler or one made out of Fiberglass? Aluminum is a little heavier but more durable and fixable. Fiberglass is lighter but cracks easier.

I have a 73 I've been woorking on for 2 years. long story short..my brother totaled it just before I got tags for it. Now I have a 71(10/70) and Im wondering if I can use all the susepension, drive shaft, diff, etc from the 73 with no problems. I remember reading somewhere that somthing is different. Maybe the rear is mounted 35mm forward or back? I can barely bring myself to post the wrecked picture but here it is and heres the new project. Starting from scratch. Brian

Does anyone have a list of the parts that were originally yellow cadmium or silver zinc plated? I have been given a box of fasteners, clamps, latches, etc. which have all been yellow plated. I have been trying to locate photos of a period correct 240Z to determine the correct finish/color. (For example, many of the refreshed 240Zs I have seen have a yellow hose clamps, which I think should have been silver.) Thanks for your response. Keith

Hi all Has anyone successfully placed an order on modern-Motorsports.com? I've been trying for a couple months with no luck. I get to the shipping address section of the checkout process, hit Next and can't proceed further, it always returns me back to the same window. I've emailed them repeatedly about this and the only answer I get is a semi-automated one saying the webmaster will have the cart issue resolved in a couple days... But it's been over 2 months... Anyone else having this issue? I tested on both Safari & Firefox to see if maybe it was a web browser issue and got the same result... -e

I received from Courtesy Nissan a OEM rear hatch inner weatherstrip for the 72 Z. The new OEM part number from Nissan is labeled 76912-N4500 (part received from Courtesy). The original part number in the NISSAN parts book is 76912-E4100. Furthermore and where I am confused..... the rubber extrusion from the part received from Courtesy is not shaped as the original one on the car. My parts catalog is the original 70-73 NISSAN. Is somebody can explain me why the second section of the part number doesn't match the original number going back to original NISSAN data? There is no superseded part number in the original parts book. Is it possible that the new parts reproduced as…

hey all, here's my situation. I found this fairlady z close to home and I'm wondering more about it. first off, is a 1975 fairlady z similar to the 260z? is that correct? what kind of differences am i looking at? weight reduction, stiffness, power, engine? and i guess mainly i am curious to what kind of 'trouble' ill be getting into if i bought one. I'm not the most mechanically adept guy and i'm not wealthy by any means... but i absolutely love the looks of the z... do these cars cost quite a bit on parts? are they hard to find? I was seriously considering getting a 240sx from the states, but what i find is that what I really want to do is invest time and money in…
