FYI... I was checking out some goodies at DealCatcher.com and saw this listing for Advance Auto Parts and felt I needed to pass it along to my fellow Zed-Heads. They have the following coupon codes below - but there is another. If you use JL15 and keep the Subtotal at $100, then you get off and then they will email you a $50 coupon for use in September. There is also free shipping on orders over $75. I picked up a rebuilt Dizzy for $96, threw in some Caliper Lube to get to $100. After I get the $50 coupon, I'll essentially net a $50 rebuilt dizzy, with a lifetime warranty + Free Shipping to my door. $20 off orders of $50 or more via code "A123" $25 off orders of $60 …

Hi everyone, so I'm considering buying a new fuel filler cap because the one on my car right now does not lock into place (it merely sits on top of hole) and when the gas tank is relatively full, or full, and I take a hard turn fast, gas will leak out and spill slightly. Moreover, people can easily syphon my gas out. I have attached pictures to show what my current cap looks like. I don't believe it's a complete piece, as I don't have the locking key which there is a slot for, nor does the bottom of the cap (as pictured) have any tabs or arms to lock it into the plate in the body. My question then is, what type of gas cap can I buy that would lock into place? I see di…

Who'd have thought we'd have two early 240z's on our little town. There's a guy driving #900 and I just met a guy driving #2200ish today. The car is in decent shape and when he popped the hood, he had an '82 Maxima diesel with a rayjay turbo. Neat setup and he said gets nearly 40mpg. The car didn't have the original engine in it when he bought it.

I will be picking up number 7969 this weekend and it's an automatic car. I thought that the auto cars came later. I don't yet know the build date of this car - any educated guesses? I'm guessing maybe 7 or 8 of 70. It's titled as a 70. thanx in advance guys...

Just watched the TSN special up here in Canada on the 2010 Tagra Newfoundland and it was worth the watch. It is more about the guys from The Trailer Park Boys show driving in the race than the race itself. Not much of a Trailer Park fan, but "Bubbles" owns a 240Z so he can't be all bad. There was some footage of the 240Z that crashed last year as well, It was a bit sad to watch a Z meet a water filled barrier at high speeds.

Just a bit more detailing on the outside needed and a good coat of wax. Working on the interior now, hopefully I'll have that wrapped up in a couple of weeks.

Merlin was said to have turned Lead into Gold. Well, Some how a part that I have always seen as Aluminum is now brass! Well, maybe I just didnt noticed. But heres the story, I been pulling parts off other cars at the junk yard and rebuilding them to replace the parts on my car for the restore. However today, I was under my hood taking off the Flow Guide Valve on mine and under all the grime I found this!.... All the other ones I have ever seen on all models have been aluminum! The question is, has anyone seen one like this before??? Polecat

240Z CAD drawing 1 2

I made a CAD drawing of a Z (2d plan view) for you CAD drafters out there. It was drawn in a late version of the popular Auto Cad - .dwg format and I'll e-mail it to you. I know I can save it back to v14 and I might be able to save it back to v12. Let me know what you require. I design custom homes and I frequently design custom garages. I like to fill the garages with cars on my presentation drawings. This drawing is to scale, ready to drop in your plans. I was going to post it on E-bay as one-of-a-kind, RARE, hand constructed import from Electronapan with a low starting reserve of $240 but I didn't think anyone would get the sarcasm. The attached is a jpg export…

I was looking for ideas on where to find a high quality car cover. The car will be outside for a while, but it will be fresh out of the body shop, so I wanted to get a water repellant cover to protect the car. Griots garage has covers, they start at $169 up to $299. I am not opposed to investing in a good cover, but not if I can find a better deal. Thanks, Charles

Does anyone know where to find this type of center cap for the factory alloy wheels on a '78 280Z? They are slightly square, unlike those on later wheels. The dealer no longer offers them, nor does Black Dragon or The Z Store. Thanks!

Thought this might be interesting to some as far as gauging the 240Z's current popularity. I had thought about going to this auction to see if I could "steal" a 240Z for under $1,000. The car and auction were on Craigslist for about 5 days before it sold. It was correctly identified as a 240Z, not an SX, on CL. The link should last, they have all of their old auctions up. https://speedstowingauction.auctionserver.net/view-auctions/catalog/id/28/lot/5806/
