Ok so I'm about to take out my engine and remove just about everything else in the engine bay but first I'd like to know what you guys can see that is missing or has been changed from stock. This is my 1977 280Z, 5-Speed if that matters. When I refer to the picture driver is driver side, passenger is passenger side, back means firewall side and front means front of the car, just to make that clear. I took four pictures one of each "quadrant" of the engine bay to try and include everything. I've already circled things that jumped out at me as not original or messed with: The RED circle is highlighting where the heater core was connected, I'm assuming the heater core had…

I have narrowed down my issues with my adopted 260z to fuel starvation. Sediment in the tank sloosching around gets caught in the pickup. My options are either dumb some Berrymans inside and pray or roll up my sleeves and pull the tank. I plan to pull the electric pump off and blow out the lines and run multiple filters to see if the mechanical pump will draw the fuel to the carbs. Either way I will get a Holley pump because the filler pipe has a leak at the base so the tank will have to come out anyway. Is there an easy way to get the tank out I looked at the hoses connecting it and it is like a octopus in the rear. Why am I doing this well because my timing settings are…

I know...provocative thread title that leads to a boring topic...hey, sorry guys! I have a very original '72 that is missing one of the screws that hold the WSW pump to the rear of the left inner fender. There is one screw still holding the pump...it's approx 3/4" long and is removed using a number 2 standard screwdriver. Who is a good source for original hardware for these cars, and is willing to sell me the nit-picky stuff I need? Also, when did the WSW pumps go from being mounted on the bottom of the tank to fender mounting? Thanks in advance for any help. Alex from Columbus

I started ro do a "minor" refresh (originally just a good clean up, replace some bushings and prep for paint) on my 75Z and having been at it now for 2 months have gotten into more stuff than originally thought I would do. I have now done both frame rails (rusted out) drivers floor pan (totally rusted out), fixed rusted out inner front fenders, all new bushings, new weatherstripping, pulled the motor and tranny, removed all the interior and started prepping for new paint. All of this done with major help from reading and studying these forums, so thank you to each and everyone who contributes, there is an amazing amount of knowledge located here. I will post a pic when fi…

I'm replacing my dual downdraft weber set-up. I bought a pretty complete and servicable intake and set of SU carbs. While complete, they are pretty rough looking. What is the best way to clean them up, perhaps adding a little shine to the top of the SU's?

Just saw the trailer / teaser, on SPEED, for the 'My Classic Car' coverage of ZCON10 in Nashville. I was happily surprised to see my Z panned in the trailer. It will air on the SPEED Channel, Tuesday May 10, 2pm CST, and again on Sunday May 15, 9am CST. If there are any other times when it will air, please post them here. Bonzi Lon

Would SU carbs from a L24 be any good on a L20. How would they compare with a set of triples for performance, or would they be a waste of time. I have a 240 with SUs and it goes very well, so I assume they should flow enough air for an L20. Has anyone done this?
