I would like to get a rear spoiler for my 280z. I like the look of the BRE style 1 piece spoilers. I have a couple of questions: 1) I have read that if you have a rear spoiler without a front spoiler, the front end becomes light and squirrelly at speed. Is this true, and what speed are we talking about? This will be a street car with a few passes at the dragstrip per year. Is the BRE spoiler short enough that this effect is minimal? Car will have a Xenon type 1 urethane air dam with aluminum supports so it doesn't deform at speed, but no splitter per day. 2) Is the 'real/original' BRE spoiler a good choice? I have an August 1970 240Z that I've been enjoying for the last couple of years. My intention is to restore it some time soon so I've been busy buying up NOS original Datsun/Nissan parts for it. The question for the experts out there, should I return mine to original or keep all the BRE/Interpart/Mulholland upgrades fitted by the first owner, including original American Racing 14" Libre wheels. It came with BRE front and rear spoilers, Interpart/Mulholland suspension upgrade including sway bars, adjustable camber bushings, compression rod bearing, steering coupler, BRE exhaust header. All the bits were on the car when I got it, it had been sitting in storage since th…

Today marks 15 years since I joined this forum. When I bought my brand new 1971 240Z 51 years ago I could not have imagined that I would still own it in 2022 and rely on maintenance advice and encouragement from a global community of Z owners. I would like to thank everyone who has helped and entertained me for the last 15 years, especially Cliff and Charles. Of all the car forums I follow, this one is the most friendly and helpful. I always feel that I leave with more than I bring. Thanks, Dennis

Nothing brings out the scammers like posting an ad in in the "parts wanted" section of the forum. I posted an ad a few days ago looking for a left front fender for my 73 Z project. Within hours I started getting bombarded with replies stating they had one in excellent condition. Just a few clues to be aware of so you don't get burned. See how long they've been a member. One reply I got the person had been a member for 4 hours, another one was a member for 6 days....red flag! Another clue is the stated condition is always excellent...we all know that if you can find one of these it's not going to be in perfect condition. Look at where the message is sent from...it's…

Hi, have we discussed about this before? I want to know the answer of these coding. Each jack has alphabetical code, I have a jack , ’ P. C. E ‘ Could it be made 1970 March 5th ? This jack is in my 03/1970 240Z. And olso the car has ‘ 0. C ‘ stamp on a tire stoppers , I guess it could be 1970. March. I saw a 09/1970 car has ‘ P H Y’ , this means 1970 August 25th ? This car still has a paper list in a tool bag, with a stamp ‘ 45 9 10’ ( 1970 September 10th) And I found some 1969 cars have ‘ O ‘ for their jack, O I A , 1969 September 1st ? O G S , 1969 June 19th ? The…

Looking for the Z Oracles to help enlighten us neophytes on the 280z ECUs. I have acquired several ECUs at junkyards, EBay and CL. I thought it might be a good to have a couple extras and would sell the others I don’t need. I got them all at great prices...couldn’t pass them up. Here’s my situation. My car is a manual tranny, it had a AT ECU (A11-601-000) in it. The wasn’t running and I thought I had isolated it to the fuel pump relay because the pump wouldn’t work when I turned the key on. I replaced the ignition switch, pump relay and ECU all at the same time and the car was able to start so I never isolated it to any single part. Bench checking the old Fuel Pump…

I have removed the windshield wiper assembly from my 73 Z project. I noticed there are felt washers between the linkage arms. Anyone have any idea where you can buy something to use to replace these? I thought about using neoprene washers but thought they may not allow the arms to move smoothly enough. Any thought or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
