I have State Farm insurance and they wanted me to get my car appraised for a stated value policy. I contacted a local guy that owns a company called Antique Automobile Evaluation he seems to have a lot of experience. He is a Certified Appraiser by the Certified Appraiser Guild of America and is a member of 4 or 5 car clubs and is a senior master judge for Antique Automobile Club of America. He seemed to know his stuff and was very through I thought. The info packet he sent me has descriptions and pictures of the car. Some of the points listed. Body- Very good to excellent condition with good fit. Fenders - Very good to excellent condition with good fit. Hood - Very goo…

Members--First, the good news. Our annual Z event will be held on Saturday, April 16th at our location in Orange, Calif. Because of the delay in getting the date out, I wanted to provide you with an explanation. Traditionally, our show is the last weekend in April. However, as was the case in 2010, there was a scheduling conflict with another Datsun/Nissan event. We believe that the Z hobby benefits from not having too many events on the same day. In determining what was in the best interest of the Z community, we decided to move the date for our get together. Details will be posted soon (some interesting changes are in store!). In the meantime, please circle April 16th o…

i was at the local cracker barrel the other day and saw a really rough looking z car pull up. i immediately. got out of my car to go look at his. (due to the fac i have only seen 1 other z car in my county before.) anyway it was an older gentleman driving the car that informed me that it was a 1977 280z and it had over 400k miles on it. i was astonished at this fact. and was wondering if you guys have ever heard of a z engine going that far? and how many miles were the engines designed to go for?

Thirty years of innovations and it only just beat a 260Z and was crushed by a 300ZX. Jan

I just had these correct brake/clutch line holder bolts made in Japan. These often become messed up when you try to remove them.

Hello there. I just purchased an 76 280z in fairly nice condition. However, I notice a few things that are differenet than my 78 Z that I had many years ago. With that, I thought I might ask a couple of questions to the wiZe: 1. There is no spare tire or rear board to cover the spare tire. Does the 76 not have the same cover board as the 78? If not, is there any board that lies beneath the carpet...and if so, does anyone have any idea where I can get one? (perhaps adapt a 77/78 cover board?) 2. The rear rubber bumper "sight shield" is cracked in several spots. Any idea where one can pick up another....or even make another? I hope having two questions in one postin…

You all have been very helpful over the years, and as my resto nears an end, I have a few questions. I want to put a 'stock' appearing set of spark plug wires on the car - the Bosch sets have 2 of the 6 wires with short, orange heads, while the others are the large black type, as all 6 of mine are currently. Any input as the where I can get a quality black set? Second, is there a way to match the engine to the chassis? I bought it from the original owner and have all docs, but still curious about the dates of the motor, etc. To see if all is well. The pics in my album are pretty lame, as it is frozen here in Pittsburgh, but please take a look and let me know what you t…

Hi and how are you? my 76 280z gas tank is bad. the pump cannot get fuel out of it to send up to the engine. what should be my next step? buy a new or used tank or clean up the tank? if cleaning up the tank is the best and cheapest way to go, how do i go about cleaning the tank and the sending unit? after cleaning will i have to replace the sending unit with a new one? pls give me ideas pls. i am a student and trying to restore this car. i work on it myself because i can't afford to have a mechanic to come work on it. i am looking for the cheapest and reasonable way to fix my gas tank and have it working fine. thanks

Well here is a picture of my fuel filter. I took it off the car in the summer of 2010, and just forgot about cutting it open. We have suspected there is a rust problem in the tank. Based on other facts we have been collecting about the car, we think it sat for a while. And probably with a half filled gas tank. And therefore the top of the gas tank is probably all rusty and corroded etc I believe I only drove 200/300 or so miles on the one in the picture. But I cannot be sure because too many things have happened since the last year or so. However, I have another fuel filter on the car now, which I am gonig to pull off to check it. I drove about 1000 miles this summer w…

The only reason I'm sharing this is because I owned this car before I got my '71. I did a bunch of work to it and according to the new owner's ad, he picked up where I left off. He didn't list that it's got a complete poly bushing kit all around. All this car really needs is paint and some 240 bumpers and it'll be a really nice car. It is a VERY reasonable price if you are looking for a 280. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/2177928224.html
