How do you think of your Z car? When looking at the exterior what stands out? What have you done in the design after what cars if any? I designed mine after a Ferrari 250GTO/275GTB. This was clear. Not that Datsun was not strong to begin with. Maybe a Jaguar XKE was there too. I like a long nose and compact driver's compartment. Or a mid engine & balance. What about you?

Smoke Testing 1 2

Has anyone ever used a machine similar to this on their Z cars? My cousin told me about using a smoke machine to test for vacuum leaks in the car. I watched some videos and saw some different models on ebay/amazon of several different brands of these things. I want to find someone locally who has one. So then I could have them hook it up and show me some smoke blowing out of cracks and crevices it should not BE! They seem extremely useful to diagnose unmetered air escaping my system from wherever. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000P72HZY/ref=asc_df_B000P72HZY1409275?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B000P72HZY Here …

Ok... So I know how much we all love pictures of the Z's and other Datsuns so I figured I'd post this site I just found that features some pictures of Rocky Auto in Japan. They have a pretty big inventory of Z's, GT's, and GTR's anyway enough said I'll let the photos speak for themselves just scroll down about 3/4 of the way and you will start to see the photos. The Rocky Auto pics are featured after the "1973 Sunset Orange 240Z" spread. Anyway, enjoy v v v v v v v Link v v v v v v v http://fatlace.com/category/slammedsociety/old-school/page/2/

Just bought this girl on Wednesday after answering an ad on Craigslist. Never saw one in person and haven't found much information on the net. There was a thread on this car awhile back here on the forum. I made the 2.5 hour drive to Craig Halsted's place in Front Royal, VA. This was his only Z, but he had an incredible collection of Datsun roadsters, including a super-charged V8 and an original prototype 1600. These cars were spread all over his property along with a few oddball cars including an old Studebaker and classic Volvo. The car needs plenty of work but is complete and original, including the interior which is in exceptional condition for sitting so ma…

Hello everyone. I have been searching for a vintage photo of the first boatload of Zs to arrive in America. So far no luck, but I have seen this image in some older Z car books. If anyone has one to share it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I just got back from the first day of a Driver Edge track even at Texas MSR http://www.thedriversedge.net/ http://www.msrhouston.com/msrhouston/trackmap.asp I have never been near a track of any kind before so encountered quite a steep learning cure for the first couple of runs but by the third and fourth 25 minute session things were starting to make a little more sense. Before going into it I was quite worried that my 240Z could not cope but I'm very happy to say that my little car felt quite at home on the track. My run group included a GT3, GTR, 2 race preped mini's, several lotuses (loti?) and more corvettes than I could count. However, I did not feel any lack …

Hey all, need a little help. Just got my first 240z, been sitting for 20 years. Got it started, then replaced condensor, points, cap and rotor. And now i have no spark from the coil. Has 12v out the coil from secondary, but drops to about 9v when turning over. The points open/gapped correctly, its timed correctly. Could it be resistor? Condensor wiring issue? What would cause no request for spark? Thanks

Key code 1 2

I'm looking to find my key code for my car. I have most of the paper in glove box nothing written on it. Not written in warranty book. I noticed a number I can't match up on the bottom of the warranty card is that it? I have the locks out, on the ignition I found a number that is different each of the extra ignitions I have, and including the original. It is a 2 number code that uses numbers and letters. Is that it? I didn't see any numbers on the other locks.
