I have been out of the Z car market for awhile, but I came across this '78 Black Pearl, 5-speed, that runs, but the brakes are not working. The car is pretty rough: Needs new seat foam/covers, carpet, probably both fenders, driver's door, maybe a hood, tires, brake work, paint, etc. The floors are solid, but the passenger side frame rail is rusty. The bumpers are in the car and look fine. I could probably get the car for $500. Is the car even worth saving? Thanks. . . . . . . . .

Hello to all, I am having some trouble with my L26 and i'm about ready to just do an engine swap. I would prefer an RB25 but that's a little out of my price range at the moment. Therefore I am looking for an RB20 or an SR20, do any of ya'll know where I can get the complete swap?? Besides ebay or craigslist I can't find anything and I know there are more options. If anyone has any ideas it would help out alot! Thanks!

Hi guys, Our new Z has arrived, and so we will shortly be on the hunt for parts. We are going to need the following: 71 Fuse panel cover/ashtray All interior panels (although we think we can refurbish the door cards, so mainly quarter panels, boot panels etc. Centre console and dash are going to be attampted to be repaired before we look to buy replacements - dash is too expensive!) Replacement vinyl (transmission tunnel, suspension struts etc) Car seat vinyl replacement (would want to keep original 71 with vents look) Front/Rear bumpers (supposedly best place is a Vietnam manufacturer which makes them in stainless steel?) Full rubbers (weatherstrip kits - I see on here …

I've finished my rear bumper brackets. I did the fronts a while back and posted pics, so I figured I'd share the rear ones I fabricated. Will be sending my bumpers off to get straightened and chromed this week now that my brackets are done. I haven't drilled the hole in the quarter panel yet as I wanted to wait until they were restored just in case it moves the mounting home spot a slight amount after straightening. For the main bracket I have about 1/2" adjustability from right to left so they should be good to go.

On a 1978 280z can anyone tell me what typical/normal readings from an AFR meter like the innovate LM-1 should be reading at idle, normal driving and under heavier accelaration?

Does anybody know where Butterscotch seatcovers can still be found? I've got a couple emails out but haven't heard anything. Seems as if these are getting kinda scarce.

I'm missing some heater duct, the "slinky" type hose that runs under the days. Does anyone have any suggestion for replacements? I need to dig into it a little more and make sure its only the hose that I'm missing, but I'm pretty sure thats all I need.

Hello all, just want to pass this along. I found a 72 240z sitting in a junkyard in Auburndale, fl. I took the rust free doors, fenders, plus carbs and manifold also snagged the bumpers that were in good cond. was told that car was there for almost a year without anything missing except tranny. Still has motor and diff. if anybody is interested plus some interior parts, but you have to act quickly because it has a big red x spray painted on the windshield which indicates that it has a date soon with the crusher.: All pro Auto Salvage 1425 Old Dixie Hwy. auburndale,fl 33823

I hardly ever see any that color for sale even though alot of people feel that was the most striking color. Were less originally sold or do you think people have changed the color. What would be a good way to search for one. I understand there may be a way to search all the cities of Craigs list at one time. I had one in the 70's and loved that color. Now all I see are white.

We recently bought a Pace Setter ceramic coated 3x2 header for the 260. The car has an E88 head, correct me if I'm wrong but that is a square port head. The header we bought (Ebay) said it fit a 70-76, a brand new Pace Setter part #70-1037. Turns out it is a pround port header.... I know, buyer beware. When it came up on Ebay I did some research, the picture matched exacly what was in the latest Black Dragon Catalogue as fitting a 70-76, no mention of square or round port head (didn't know there was a difference, I'm a newb) So Ok, I screwed up, time to move ahead, then I find this on Ebay today. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PACESETTER-1970-1976-DATSUN-Nissa…

Alright guys. I guess I could scour the boards to see if I can meet peoples needs but that is time way too time consuming. I probably have 14 Z cars in my house in parts alone not to mention the addition to the 4 in the shop. Of the cars I have parted out, I saved everything that was useable because well, I hoarded it. Someone will need it. Maybe me was my thoughts since I wasn't sure where I was going with the Zthing. I've been into the cars for 19 years now. If there is an interest from fellow club members on parts I will be happy to go through what I have and make a list of what is available and what condition everything is in. Perhaps you have a broken door latch…
