I've owned my 280 now for about 3 months and have slowly been working through various mechanical and getting the car in good running order. I've done all the usual stuff, brakes, clutch, tune ups, adjustments, etc.. and resolved a lean running issue that took me forever to work through. I still have a few a small list of minor maintenance items a couple more issues to resolve however I've just finished a big job and one that has made a huge difference. I went through the entire suspension on the car, replaced all the bushings with the MSA urethane kit, put Tokico HP struts in, and the Eibach spring kit. In addition I yanked off the old beat up exhaust that was on the ca…

I just found this interesting site that I have not seen before. Worth a look, the menu is on the left side. - http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsuns30/DatsunFairladyZIndex/Engine280Z/tabid/1545/Default.aspx Of course, 2 seconds later I stumbled over the atlanticz site - http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/explodedviews/280z/index.html Good views of things you can't really see like the door lock mechanism and window regulators.

It's been dry last two days, so I took a short run in the Z on the last day of 2010. Ran a few errands, then stretched her legs on highway 280 for a few miles before driving her home. Not a bad way to end 2010... May take the bride out for breakfast in the z tomorrow morning as the first drive of 2011!

Great way to end the year. I've been working on getting all systems go again after this thing sat for 23 New Years. It's finally officially out of hibernation. Took my daughter out for a drive today and in just the time it took to get a couple miles to the gas station I got two thumbs up, one peace sign from a guy in a bimmer, a guy in a Firebird almost spun his neck around getting a look, and a guy at the gas station almost molested the car. Too much fun. All in all, the car dives fantastic with no rattles, squeeks, smoke, or vibrations. The struts are a little soft, but the car had almost 80k on it before being parked so they will be next on the list. I'll try an…

My resolution (ie the big one) is to get mine back on the road before the snow melts! Two goals; 1) Receive back from body shop (Almost a year). 2) Rebuild Suspension/Brakes. What are yours?

Hey guys, I am putting my engine back together and would like to find some stainless allen bolts for the valve cover, timing cover, etc. There was talk of someone putting these sets together and I found an old link in a search, but the post was 5 years old and the link no longer valid. Tried various searches through google but didn't come up with much. Any one know where I can get such a kit for a 72 240? Thanks! Leonard
