With a large investment, I just ordered US Tail lamps. It will come in July or August this summer. These will be limited production as it takes a large $ to order so many. Quality is already proven with European tail lamps. All hand assembled in Japan. Price will be around $495 a set, about 1/2 price of European Tail lamps. It will be available from MSA. By the way, in case you did not know, these reproduction Euro tail lamps will be out very soon. No plans for another lot for now.

I know this will probably get me thrown off this web board but here it goes. Everyone when they replace anything always state they torque everything down to factory specs. I have found working on this car that it is not always possible to get a torque wrench on some bolts when you do not have the car up on a nice car lift in a garage. I know there has never be a time when i have not tightened something down to the point it will come loose, my question is could sightly over-tightening something cause a problem ?

OK heres a interesting question. Are the rubbers used in the Repo Braided water hoses the sames as the rubber used in the lets say the Evap Canister gas tank hose in the back of the 240Z? I am thinking because its so hard to find braided hoses to use something that is close. Or well the Evap hose break under the hear, water and pressure of the cooling system? Any thoughts??? Polecat

I do not wish to start a big debate over the age long question over "who make the best motor oil". I only would like to know if any one has come across a more recent study of motor oil. I have the 2003 Motor Oil Bible and from the searching i have conducted, it seems that everyones opinion on oil quality comes from that study. This has been a very long time ago and many new oil's have come on the market.

.. and put them on the right side of the car? I bought my 1970 Z with aftermarket mirrors on both side of the car. I see that I can still get the stock mirror. Can I get 2, flip one, and mount it on the passanger side? I was planning on getting them from here... http://www.courtesyparts.com/mirror-assembly-for-left-hand-driver-side-1970-1973-s30-p-568980.html?cPath=7724_7759& or do they make a right hand mirror that matches the stock one? Thanks!

Going Christmas shopping today, I stopped at a place on the highway near my home that specializes in Texas stuff to get some last minute presents. The store happens to be next door to Classic Jaguar Automotive, which as you might tell from the name of the business, handles only vintage and classic Jags. Most often seen there are impeccable XK-E types of the total-drool variety. Big dollar cars, serious restorations. Anyway, I pull into the parking space that separates the two businesses as two mechanics were doing the final tweaking on a totally gorgeous red convertible Jag just outside their garage door. They wave me over and I come by to compliment them on the two beau…

I know that there is few threads about this subject but i didnt found any info about what do you need to do to your Z to prepare it for E10. We here in Finland have been driving "clear" 95 octane until now. Do i need to make any changes to my Z in order to drive it with E10? Of course i can always buy the higher octane gasoline (wich includes 5% of ethanol) but it costs more. I've read that it corrodes the fuel lines, does anyone have any experience about this? It is possible that my Z has been driven with E10 before. I understand that you've been driving with E10 for sometime now in California?

I was in Arlington fixing my sons car and on the way back home was at a light behind a truck and got slammed from the rear by a 4 door lincoln doing what felt like 50mph but was prolly 30mph. He then backed up and hauled arse. After a trip to the ER I got to looking at my car today and although I think she can be fixed, I am not sure she isn't bent. Adjuster stated over the phone it would probably be a total. I have been looking and 240z's are doing well. Classic Auto Trader has a good artical on them this month and the 240 is on the cover. It says 6300 low 19500 high and 10200 average. Average being good 20 foot paint, no mechanical issues, ect. Which my baby was…

Put together a few "Z" zinfindel wine labels to give as gifts to a couple gear head buddys. (The shift pattern is actually straight, though it looks crooked in the pic)., Did this before when I owned my 1960 MG: "MGA Merlot". It was actually a much cooler than the Z label, as it was octagon shaped to mimic the MG logo. Next is a Capri chardonney label for my buddy who's doing a cosmetic restoration of a 70 Capri.

Fellow east coast guys can appreciate this one. The west coasters can see it first hand of how lucky you can be. This was a 78 280 I acquired after a long time of sitting. a friend of mine sold this car to a non mechanical person who refused my help and direction of what to do with the car. A simple replacement of the FI harness would have solved all his issues which I had in the shop. Fast forward 10 years and trim back the bushes that claimed this one and here are the results. A leaking sunroof was the culprit. Got the car for a hundred bucks after refusing his sale price of 1500 hundred for YEARS. I scored alot of suspension, body, interior and a .030 over L28 bu…
