I've found a rust free shell of a "71 280Z"? I still haven't found out what it is but I thinking of checking it out. Who knows what year it is but I was wondering if there are any body changes that would stop me from swapping everything from my 78 with some rust to this body. My car isn't a lost cause but it is rough. Here is a link to some pics on my car if anyone is interested. Thanks. http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Brentadour/1978%20280Z/

Hey all, I'm looking at a '78 280Z today near me. My 240Z is taking longer to restore than I thought, so I thought maybe I'd try to find another car to do some small repairs on and just drive. Apprently this one will only run off starting fluid, which suggests to me a bad fuel pump or severely clogged injectors. I'm not too savvy on the 280Z, so are there any specific things I should watch out for? Any help is apprecitated; thanks!

If anyone has or gets a chance to take a picture of the bottom rear front fender where it mounts to the body...it would be a great help. fenders were rusted so bad i cant tell how the bottom is supposed to look. im not using a repair panel so a picture will help me get it close to right. i probably should have put this in help section. sorry Brian

This may be a re-post. My apologies if so. Saw this Z on another forum. Not very practical but looks great IMO. I love the stance and the wheels. My kind of S30. http://fatlace.com/slammedsociety/hellaflush/miguel-soria’s-260z/

Anyone know what size bolts hold the front fenders on at the top inside the engine bay? When I removed them they all broke and i now have to weld new nuts and put new bolts in. Just want the right head size..not that it really matters.

Escutcheon

Just in case anyone has ever wondered where Datsun came up with the term "escutcheon" for the plastic inner door handle trim covers. I thought it was kind of pretentious sounding until I discovered it actually is a real word. Here's the definition from Webster's Dictionary. 1: a defined area on which armorial bearings are displayed and which usually consists of a shield 2: a protective or ornamental plate or flange (as around a keyhole) 3: the part of a ship's stern on which the name is displayed More trivia for all of us Z-heads!
